"Northfield is OK for south eastern Jersey, but that is only because the surrounding schools are so terrible.....it's sad. (minus Linwood- Linwood is a sold choice for education & it's reflected in home prices) The west side of the state or north Jersey is MUCH better with tons of solid educational choices."

"I have lived in South Jersey all my life - in a nearby town. We sold our home & moved to Northfield before our kids were school age - mainly for the school system. I have been extremely happy with the Northfield Community School. The Child Study Team is top-notch. Concerns are handled quickly & everyone genuinely cares about the children. Our child's Kindergarten teacher is absolutely amazing & I am very happy with the curriculum especially the reading program. My child was beginning to read just 2 months into the school year. The only improvement I would like to see is more parental involvement. Even in Kindergarten there are only a few times per year where parents can visit for celebrations/parties. Kindergarten should be a good mix of learning, playing & fun & sometimes I feel like there isnt enough time for "extras" ie: show & tell, play centers (kitchen, blocks) overall we are extremely happy with our decision to move to Northfield"

"Our family moved into the area several years back and had based our home search on trying to find the best schools for our children. N'field schools were supposedly some of the best in the area - which was a plus as the school that our kids were transferring from was outstanding. We presumed that, on the whole, N'field would be on par. How wrong we would turn out to be. Early on, it became clear that our children - who are NOT genius level - were far more advanced than other members of their classes in all subjects - our assessment was that their classmates were vastly behind especially with regard to math & language skills. Our younger ones came home telling us how they watched movies EVERY DAY. We repeatedly expressed our concerns with teachers and the superintendent but were rebuffed & referred to the ever present badge of standardized test scores. Our suspicions grew that NCS was overly concerned with test scores. We felt they'd devolved to merely TEACHING TO THE TESTS. Sadly, many parents seemed to on board. We pulled our kids out the next year and found that, in their new school, they were nearly a full year behind. NCS: So much potential. Such little effort. Waste."

"Northfield Community School is ever striving to better educate our children -- parental involvement must continue to pressure the school to continually increase standards and expectations of students and teachers alike!"

"This is a very nice new school with teacher that love their jobs and it shows. I moved here from PA where the school districts are all Blue Ribbon. I don't understand why this school is not rated higher. It is very good."
