"St. Patrick School always strives to hire the best teachers in every subject for every grade. I recall that several of my teachers(my 7th grade chemistry teacher and my brother's fifth grade teacher) were nationally awarded for their teaching skills. My 7th grade teacher won a national teaching award worth thousands of dollars. Looking back, I could not have asked for a better K-8 education, especially in English and Grammar, Literature, Science, and Math. The teachers worked hard to be consistent and fair in grading, and offered myriad opportunities to bring a grade up if you were willing to work for it. They masterfully integrated technology in the classroom and taught us how to present information well in every subject. I recall one especially "ruthless" grammar instructor whom I had for 8th grade English. I can give her the credit for equipping me with the skills I needed to score a perfect 80/80 on the Writing section of the PSAT in 2015. I remember my middle school teachers the best. My 7-8th grade math teacher taught me Pre-Algebra and Algebra, and her style of communication kept learning fun through her relatable personality and unique teaching methods. Math is sometimes difficult to make fun, but it was her passion for the subject that made me the number whiz I am today, eager to learn more calculus, and pursue math studies outside of the classroom even into my high school years. My 7-8th grade Literature teacher seemed strict when I was in her class, but her disciplined approach solidified in me a strong foundation on how to analyze all literature, no matter the reading level. I admire her the most of all the teachers I've had, even now in high school. I still use her analysis tactics today in all subjects, be it political science, psychology, environmental theory, international relations, or literature itself. Learning to dissect human nature is a skill that is universal and essential to basic understanding about the world."

"I enjoyed the classes and my personal close circle of friends, although I am aware that the social scene could be somewhat exclusive at times (at least in my graduating class of 2012). I have heard that after the class of 2014 left, the school environment has drastically changed for the better, although I'm not as involved with the students younger than the class of 2014. There were myriad counseling opportunities available for whatever problem a student faced, and with the introduction of a new principal in my 8th grade year, general student behavior cleaned up through a new discipline network. Overall, I left the school with only praise for its improvements in school culture, which became more open and accepting. Bullying was a problem when my class was in 2-5th grade, but the vice principal quickly took care of that. But then again, bullies are a menace at almost any school. I would choose St. Patrick again if I could do it all over again. After my father passed away in 2nd grade, I was assigned a counsellor at school whom I could visit at any time during school if I was feeling particularly sad. My counsellor helped me through the grieving process at such a young age and provided me the mentoring I needed to carry on with my studies. I came out of third grade with a 4.0 despite dealing with the loss of my father at the time, and my counsellor became a lifelong friend. The St. Patrick church community (at the time affiliated with the school) was unbreakably strong, and almost every day, a new parishioner brought my family dinner after school. I loved this aspect of St. Patrick and the phenomenal educational opportunities, however the students can be a menace at times. That is why I give St. Patrick 3/5 stars for overall experience."
