    "We have one daughter at TMS. This school is an amazing public school. Teachers are very involved, classes are a manageable size, and students are encouraged to do their best. I volunteer in the classroom and I have to say that there is only one factor that leads to a child failing in this school: Poor Parenting. While most kids have a great deal of support, a few in my daughter's classroom were in families that "left it to the school" and refused to help their child in any way. Even so, the school makes great efforts to aid every child. Wonderful activities, programs, band, etc."

    "I just moved to this area from Atlanta and enrolled two of my children at Tchefuncte. My experiences so far with the administration, teachers and office staff have been amazing. Teachers are very involved and communication with them is very positive and appreciated. I love the school system here!"

    "Tcefuncte Middle School is an outstanding school. The teachers are dedicated and the administration is outstanding. It is by far the best middle school in the parish."

    "Just like it's counterpart next door, Pontchartrain Elementary, Tchefuncte Middle is a gem ... especially now with new Principal Norsworthy, who 'ran the show' as vice principal at Pontchartrain for almost the last decade and whose own children attended Tchefuncte. The teachers are incredibly compassionate and caring, the academics are stimulating and interesting for my 5th grader (and me!). Parent involvement is superb and welcomed --- lots of really educated moms doing a lot of really good work! I think the 'one-star' posting below was a reflection of perhaps an overwhelmed teacher post-Katrina when every school (and business and road) was having difficulty dealing with the sudden over-population on the northshore. Now into the fall of 2007, things have definitely improved and are back to normal. Tchefuncte is more like a private school in almost all aspects (except for tuition!) ... visit and you'll see for yourself."
