"Sporting events at Maricopa High School are alright. They are very high emergized when students and parents come. Student involvement into other sports and activities is very minimal to none. They are a lot of sports that don't get the support as they should. Some families do have connections to the schools and you can tell by the support and money donnated and given to such sports. They are two sports that schools loves and you can tell. School dances are not all that either. They are well funded but it comes back to the actual involvement from students. Not a lot of students like to participate in spirit weeks and though the atmosphere has changed over the course of the years I have attended, it's become verty apparent if you participate you're "uncool". If I had a choice I would not attend this school again. The student involvement is very little not making it a very fun atmosphere to come to."

"I would choose another school I would just try and make parents and students more involved."

"Most can be working really well with students yet sometimes the way they teach or go about things could be better. Also some teachers that teach at a college level, even though we are in high school, don't really have regards for your learning and expect you to get it right away and correctly instead of helping you out or simplifying in terms that we may understand."

"Teachers are great they are nice and friendly but most aren't engaging in their lessons and play favoritism in some grading. Grading isn't very consistent. Most teachers put grades in whenever and some will wait until the end of the semester. Meaning they only put one grade in at a time. Some teachers don't care what you're grade is and if it's .9 they won't round up. Others are rude and like to give attitude as if they were in highschool. The school overall though is very welcoming and do their best to provide a great atmosphere for both the teaching and student environment."
