"This school seems to be a magnet for committed, talented teachers who genuinely seem concerned about meeting the needs of the children. Hardly any clunkers in the bunch. Excellent, enriching, varied, child oriented afterschool programs. Very academic. The kids also seem to have strong athletic skills as well, so can be tough on kids who are not at the top athletically or academically."

"Lovely little community school tucked away in a very safe environment. Good teachers, good PFA. The best kept secret of North Allegheny school district!"

"All three of my children attended this school, with my youngest still there. The quality of the curriculum is excellent. All of the teachers are dedicated. Professional principal and support staff. Terrific music and art programs, in addition to the core subjects. Offers orchestra, band and chorus--unusual for elementary school. Phys Ed focuses on health and fitness, not just games. There are lots of opportunities for parents to get involved. Strong, active Parent-Faculty Association. Great library. Great computer lab. Offers all the benefits of a big school, but in a small school, family-focused way. Can't say enough good things about BWE."
