"I am a former student who attended this school for all 7 years from K-6. I liked the fun days we had. I got very lucky and did not have any bad teachers until 6th grade, but all bad in 6th grade. I kind of in a way like this school better than the 7-8th grade building on the main campus because it was a good difficulty/pace. Once you hit 6th/7th grade it REALLY starts to pick up. Now for the main three things I disliked about the school (in order from least to most disliked). 3. All the substitute teachers are mean, and leave bad reports, so we get in trouble when the regular teacher comes back. 2. Although I never really bought lunch here, people often complained about the food. You pretty much have to eat what they served that day, pack your lunch, or go hungry. 1. Now time for my least favorite part about this school. No air conditioning. The only rooms that are air conditioned are the library, and the computer labs. Most parts of the building don't even have air ducts, and are heated by units under the windows, that are basically radiators with fans to blow the air out, and covers so you don't get burnt. On a hot day, It can get hot enough to pass out, especially on top floor."

"Both of my children attended this school and I found that the teachers were uninterested in their performance and frequently use student correction of homework, which is a sign of laziness on the teaching of our children. Children with high functioning Autism are not handled well at all and some students suffer because of this situation. The principal is not a strong leader and does not require excellence of his teaching staff. There is absolutely no support for any children with social behaviors. I am very disappointed with the school for there lack of support and there is NO after school learning enrichment programs offered....."

"Our experience with Evans City Middle School has been very good. Every teacher we have had has shown a great interest in our child's success as a student. The administration and office staff are extremely helpful and friendly."

"Mr. Waugaman has been an incredible 5th Grade teacher. I have found that he has become an honorable role model for all of his students and is significantly learned in his field of expertise."

"My son is about to complete 5th grade at Evans City Middle School. As a parent, my experience of the school was mixed. There are great 'enrichment' classes like art, music, gym, chorus, and band. There are many opportunities for parents to become involved through the Parent Teacher Organization. There are great extracurricular school-based activities, such as the yearly Art Show, Science Fair, Literacy Night, Book Fair, and more. Regarding my son's classroom experiences, the results were somewhat less inspiring. One of the highlights was the two night stay at the McKeever Environmental Center. All 5th grade students attend this conservation/ environmental awareness-raising program, and my son seemed to enjoy it. I also think the Social Studies curriculum was interesting and well-taught. There was no flexibility with the Language Arts and Reading coursework. Advanced readers were given no opportunities to read beyond grade level in the classroom."
