"I had the opportunity to work in this school as a substitute teacher and decided that I would never go back. The students are often left unsupervised, especially in the halls at dismissal and arrival times. It is obvious that the school principal and academic dean need to take a more proactive role in the management and supervision of students during unstructured time."

"I feel the Amityville Middle School is a great place to learn, i went their for the past two years, but now im in a diffrent school. i miss the shcool and all the teachers so much, the nurse Mrs. Bocsh is so nice, . I love Spanish class , I went thier not knowing a word in spanish now i speak it so well all because of Mrs. Silverberg. (: Mr. Obrien is one of the nicest teachers their Mrs. Kraljic is one of my favorite teachers. I really had a great time there. -tay"

"I used to go to Edmund W. Miles Middle and I do not remember it being like that. I loved going there because my teahcers were always trying to help me; Mrs. Rutigliano, Ms. Carrua, Mrs. Fabian etc., and now I'm going to start college at the school I want."

"This school, in my opinion doesn't really reach appropriate standards. The teachers don't put in enough effort, half the students here either don't care or are discouraged by they're parents or even teachers. The principal,Mr.Pitterson is trying his best to fix everything but I believe it's going to take a lot more then ' team work' to pull this school to the top where really every middle school should be. I've been going to this school for 3 years now and I'm just disappointed to see that every year it just gets worse. Isn't that the opposite of how it's suppose to be? I'm definitely not looking forward to another year in this school but oh well, I'm going to have to because they're moved the 9th grade down and I have really no other choice but to go here :["

"I felt the quality of the academic programs are poor. The teachers are more focused on policing then educating. The parent involvement is limited."
