"Our grandson was not doing well in Kindergarten at Bellflower. The staff recommened he be held back. We did not believe that this was an appropriate conclusion. We transferred him to Fairfax and he's adapting really well to 1st grade. If your child is struggling academically, you may want to consider transferring out of Bellflower. Otherwise, it's a decent school."

"I think there is a lack of communciation from the staff at Bellflower. We get a notice in the mail that bus schedules will be sent and then no bus schedules. I get tons of papers sent to my home before school and no notice of who my childrens teachers are going to be. No open house before school starts so the my children can locate their classroom, so when they get to school that very first day they won't be lost. I also have papers sent home with no instructions/directions on what to do with them. I think that the teachers are very caring, I just wish there was better/more communication."

"Outstanding school. Very pleased with teachers and administration, all are committed to excellence, from academics to social and interpersonal development of the students. Mentor School District is a very strong school system, this just might be the best school in the district."

"Top notch staff. Principal and teachers genuinely care about the students. Academics are clearly the top priority, and students are in a very supportive, safe environment too. The staff takes children's safety and well being very seriously and any disruptive or bullying behavior is simply not tolerated. Everything centers around creating a positive, productive environment for learning, and it really shows. Lots of school pride, too. Very happy my children go to Bellflower."

"Bellflower is a great school, perhaps the best in Mentor. The staff has children's best interest in mind and takes parental feedback very seriously. Responses are quick and thorough. Strong gifted program, including for higher learners , but not technically having 'gifted' classification per se. Before Kindergarten, I considered parochial school, but since Mentor schools and Bellflower in particular have a strong reputation I chose the public school route; haven't been disappointed. Furthermore, my decision was only reaffirmed when I discovered that the my 2nd grader had been identified as gifted, but the local parochial school I was considering didn't even HAVE a gifted program--in which case I'd have to switch to a public school to ensure an enhanced curriculum. I've had 3 children at Bellflower and have been VERY pleased, from academics to social development for students such as a strong proactive anti-bullying program. Excellent school!"
