"The academics offered at Merrimack are very limited, they do not offer agricultural careers, and barely have a shop for kids in automotive. They do not teach subjects such as zoology, or many sciences at that. They are limited for social studies, vocational careers, life-skills courses, and languages. However, they do offer a lot of math and literature, They also offer a lot of technology course as well as art."

"Merrimack is one of the worst schools in terms of their social scene. If you are "too much" of anything you are judged and publicly harassed for being who you are. There is constant bullying and fights throughout the school year as well. There is poor acceptance on the student level because most kids are rich and white and think you are weird if you have any plans for your future. Overall, this is not a very socially accepting school."

"At Merrimack High school all of the teachers are friendly, approachable, and have unique teaching styles. Not every single one puts in the effort to teach you lessons, however. Some can be lazy and slack, they rely on you to learn yourself rather then teaching; But that's only a few. For the majority the teachers at Merrimack High school, they are friendly and will stay after school to help struggling students, and they will work to improve your grades."

"My favorite experience at Alvirne High school was definitely getting involved with the vocational program. This was my favorite experience because I finally got the chance to work with animals and fulfill my passion. My favorite experience was competing in the state competition through FFA, because not only did I win first, but I had a blast doing so. Also we had many fun field trips and have many more in store for this upcoming year. Alvirne is a great school to go to because it prepares you for college and expands your outlook on your future. This school really pushes you to go forward and try your hardest and that s why I believe that If I could do it all over again, I would rather go to Alvirne than Merrimack."

"I felt most of the teachers there were just there for the paycheck and didn't want to go out of their way for the average student. I was told when my straight A student was having difficulty her freshman year in an Honors Class that she should know everything. I was furious. Because my child was intelligent, she would not be taught or guided anymore? Then when two of my children ended up with severe injuries during the school year...the guidance and help was not there. There are a lot of politics in this school and the families with the money and that know people are the ones whose children get scholarships and opportunities. It's kind of sad but my children couldn't wait to get out of this school."
