"There were a few good teachers, maybe one per department, but too many that were just no good at teaching and none of the kids came out of their class really knowing anything. It often felt like kids who did sports were pampered and given more opportunities than kids who did not do sports, and in general there was just not enough offered outside of sports teams."

"I felt like I was just putting the last-ditch efforts in order to graduate without really concentrating on the content of the work."

"While I was only here a short while, the teachers were lovely and accommodating and I genuinely liked the class content."

"The majority of the teachers at WLC are forgettable. I can recall two specific teachers who had an impact on my learning during high school. They were the teachers who gave out C's and you actually felt like you were learning. One of the teachers was a math teacher. She did not have favorites. If she did, they remained unknown. She was very clear with her expectations and provided the opportunity to make corrections to work if it did not receive a reasonable grade. I enjoyed the fact that I felt challenged."

"I would say that it was the worst, but then I wanted to account for the plethora of supporters I have had throughout my life. I felt that my high school was not ideal and did little to prepare me for the "real world". I attended a small high-school combined with a middle school. There was little diversity. Also, the coursework I completed and the teachers that I had were not particularly challenging. It felt like the administrators and faculty simply wanted to move the students along regardless of their actual progress. However, I had the support of parents who did, and continue to do, everything to get me to and through college. Neither of my parents attended to college so the process was all very introductory. My friends and other family were also a driving force in getting me to college and making a new life for myself. I only applied to one school because I did not know what to look for in a school. Thankfully, I got in and have had the most profound experiences at this institution. As unprepared as I felt when I when I graduated high school is as prepared as I feel graduating college."
