"The quality of teachers at BTW is fantastic! Each teacher my daughter has had has been above par! There is a great music program with both band and orchestra being offered. The PTA is highly involved in the school even though parent involvement is not where it should be. The principal cares about her students and teachers and is very supportive of the PTA. There is an accelerated reading program that the students are very adamant about as they are rewarded with a store at the end of each quarter in which to 'shop' with their accumulated points. (Provided by PTA.) PTA also offers an Art Masterpiece program in which parents present great masterpieces to students twice a month. The students love this progam! I've done it for 4 years and have seen the kids retain what they've learned over that period of time! Overall BTW is a great school!"

"Mrs. Powell is an amazing principal. I have watched her in action for the last three years and respect her professionalism. Last week my six year old son decided to walk home and not take the bus and was missing for about an hour. She and her staff were quick to action and guided me during a very difficult and stressful time. I have a total of three children that attend Washington and each has had fabulous teachers. This school is great. I should know I attened it the first year it opened until I went to Rhodes."

"My son attended Washington from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I was very pleased with the teachers. The office staff was quite rude on numerous occassions. The playground individual was also very rude and when my son injured his head on the playground, did not send him to the nurse. I was not pleased with the principle's attitude when I had an issue with a teacher not giving my son help in 1st grade. I must say I really do appreciate the teachers hard work though."
