"Teacher Appreciation week and school year comes to a close, no better time to share the love... From my fairly limited exposure with staff members other than my sons K - Teach, I have always been treated with courtesy, respect & professionalism from crossing guard, transportation, custodial service (Mr. W.), cafeteria, Health services, Aids, Volunteers and Administrative staff, THANK YOU! The role played is noticed and appreciated. Ms. Nortons' first year as principle provides insights to MPSs' current leadership hiring practice, Every event find her there, finger on the pulse. All for not if the sole, through budget cuts, and personal tribulations, day in & out wasn't there, forever grateful. Parent involvement? show up you'll see."

"I have 3 children attending this school in grade 5,2, and K. All 3 have had wonderful teachers and a great experience here. We will be moving shortly an I am so sad to leave this school! Great sense of community, and great teachers."

"MY SON HAS BEEN GOING TO MACARTHUR FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH EVERY TEACHER HE COMES ACROSS. I FEEL HE HAS BEEN LABELED "THE TROUBLE MAKER" SO THEY ALL LOOK OUT FOR HIM. NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES HE ALWAYS GETS IN TROUBLE AND GETS NOTES SENT HOME OR LUNCH DETENTION. SERIOUSLY THINK THIS IS UNFAIR AND NO MATTER WHAT TEACHER HE COMES ACROSS THEY ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT HIM. AND I CANT HELP BUT WONDER WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER KIDS INVOLVED?? I THINK THE SCHOOL DEFINITLY HAS IT'S FAVORITE KIDS AND THEN THE ONES THAT ARE PROBLEM CHILDREN. I FEEL BAD THAT MY SON GET'S PICKED ON AND CALLED NAMES AND EVEN GETS SHOVED AROUND BY OTHERS BUT HE'S ALWAYS THE PROBLEM ACCORDING TO THE TEACHER. SERIOUSLY THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE MY SONS LAST YEAR AT THIS SCHOOL. VERY DIS-SATISFIED!!!!"

"My children have attended here for about 1.5 Years, and after the end of the 2009-2010 year they will be leaving. The discipline here leaves a lot to be desired. It seems to be all about the haves vs. The have nots. Both of my children have been bullied, hit and generally treated like non persons by classmates. The sad thing is, after defending themselves from these attacks they end up with write ups and 'lunch detentions' always the same attackers but my kids are the ones getting punished. Neither one of my children ever had a discipline problem at their old schools, but here they are labeled bad kids. There are some great teachers who really go the extra mile here but administration is weak at best, and depends on where you fit in in the social chain. Not Mormon? Not from the wealthier areas? Sucks to be you."
