"I cannot believe the recent post that gave this school only one star! I am not sure what he/she is referring to when he/she claim lack of communication. My child is in the 5th grade at this school and I receive an e-mail EVERYDAY from his teacher with homework assignments listed...and this is also posted on their website! In fact they have one of the most informative school sites in the district. The principal posts and sends newsletters to parents every week via e-mail in order to save paper - with school budget cuts, I think this is a sensible way to save money. I guess this parent never really checked out the school's website either. The principal is very visible...I have seen her many times in the halls and in the classroom checking on student progress and what teachers are teaching. The teachers are wonderful...they work hard and really care about their students. They often times go above and beyond to help students. I even get e-mails from my child's teacher on a regular basis keeping me in touch with what is happening in class. I feel very in touch with all that is happening with school and the classroom so I am not sure what this particular parent is complaining about."

"Wow! I can't believe that the reviews for this school are so high. I moved here this summer from Poway Unified in San Diego, CA and my second and fifth grader attended this school until November. It was such a disappointment to me and my husband. There is no communication between the school and the parents! I cannot even tell you what the principal looks like and I volunteered in my daughters class weekly. The first message that was received from the PTO was the week before Halloween. It is not the job of the teachers alone to raise, teach and nurture our children, we as parents need to help and this school does not encourage that at all. I want to be involved in their education too. I loved my daughters second grade teacher, she was absolutely wonderful but one teacher alone can not run a school. Shame on the school and principal for not doing a better job for my children and the other children in that school! Unfortunately for this school kids are leaving here and going to other schools, hopefully they will open their eyes and make some changes because they really do have some great educators."

"Many wonderful changes have occured at this school in the last few years under the new principal, Dr. Cook. She really cares about the staff and students. The communities are gone and teachers have been specially trained to teach to all levels of learning...every kids needs are met. The teachers are caring and compassionate to the individual child's needs. Also, communication with parents from the school/teachers is excellent. Although some class sizes may seem large at times, this is not always the decision of the principal. This is often times decided by the district and state budgets. You cannot fault a principal for large class sizes...that is a legislative issue. This school is ranked as "Excelling" by the state three years in a row! Go RMRE!!"
