"My daughter just started this school and it has been great so far! Her Teacher is awesome, so friendly and very involved with each student and my daughter received an amazing welcome when she first came into the classroom. I am very happy with her new school and her academic progress is getting better. The students make a difference by moving ahead and working together as a team because of the quality and dedication of each teacher and exceptional staff and dynamic principal."

"We moved to Aventura a couple of months ago and my daughter is currently attending the first grade at Waterways. She comes from a small fantastic school in Miami, in which parents are extremely involved, academics are good, and the teachers and principals were always available. I am happy with her teacher at Waterways who has so far being been great. I had however, the worst experience of my life the other day, when I got delayed at a medical appointment and was half hour late to pick up my daughter. For about 45 minutes after my arrival, the school personnel was unable to find my daughter. Just like that, they could not tell me where she was. They were looking everywhere and NO ONE KNEW WHERE SHE WAS. I eventually found her (with the older kids- during their dismissal). Later I tried to speak with the principal, who was unavailable, so I tried to schedule an appointment. I received a call from his assistant who began the scheduling processed by narrating the events and basically blaming me because I had been late. I don't think this woman is a mother or even begins to realize what they put me through. A school losing a child for even a minute is not acceptable."

"My daughter started kindergarten here and so far has had a good experience, thanks to her teacher. The class size is quite large (normal I think for miami-dade county). Her teacher is on top of her academic progress, However, the teacher has had to use a microphone to keep the kids in the class under control. My daughter reports that over half the kids have trouble settling down to learn. I think her teacher has made her experience positive. Otherwise the school is large, impersonal, bare, and quite crowded."

"I find this public school school to be exceptional so far. The teachers are top notch. Kids grow up fast and become confident in no time. The school is fairly new so of course there will always be issues that a school struggles with in the beginning. I can not comment on the 8th grade review because I am not aware of it. My kids are in the lower levels and for now i feel they are receiving a great education. The offer great programs as well!! Its hard to find a school like that. The overcrowded issue will soon be resolved, but for now, it doesn't make a difference because of the extra teachers, and the control they have over them. Security is extremely important to me, and i always see someone when i walk in.. but if they want to be even more on top of it, fine with me, because that's what really matters to avoid unwanted trespassers, fights breaking out, or kids getting lost. Every school has its flaws here and there.. so i give this school 5 stars for the great achievement it has started off with. I'm sure it will soar to perfection with years to come."

"I am very happy with what the school has to offer. They have some very strong teachers and the program is great! The school is well equipped with the needed supplies and the parents are ALWAYs willing to provide what's missing. The kids are friendly and happy! They are even coping well with the fact of being overcrowded by providing 2 teachers for the overcrowded calsses. Mother of a 1st grader."
