"Every teacher is different, at this school there are some really great teachers and some really lazy horrible teachers. For example i take pre-calc and my teacher is pretty good, students get A's in her class, in comparison another pre-calc teacher is literally HORRIBLE and students fail almost every test and quiz. Some teachers teach and some just read off a powerpoint. It all depends on the teacher you end up having. Teachers usually grade consistently in their own subjects, but some teachers have odd grading sequences, again it all depends on the teacher."

"There are honors/ap/cep courses offered at my school, including opportunities to take courses at rvcc a nearby community college, and to do votech courses. Again teachers depends on who you get, but oversll the teachers are okay. The curriculum is okay, but the rigor of some courses like chemistry have gone down, especially at the honors level. About two years ago we adopted the block scheduling where students have 6 periods a day for 1 hour, my freshman year the schedule was a regular 8 period- 40 min block. The new scheduling helps to stagger classes so theyre not all in the same day, but we do miss about 11 hours of each class time a year. Workload depends on the course and teacher. Popular courses for seniors are forensics and anatomy. All students have to take algebra 2, geometry, pre-calc, physics, chemistry and biology."

"My school is known in the state for being extremely diverse. We have blacks, whites, asians and hispanics all mixed in. My school is pretty competitive when you talk about students who make it their mission to get good grades. Students are very involved in clubs and honors/ap courses. There is peer pressure but i feel it is more in the asian demographic because many asians in my school stick together because they are in all the same classes. In terms of acceptance, generally everyone is accepted, you just need to find your own niche and group of friends. I personally see that asians and hispanics tend to stick closer together, but there are anomalies in both groups. Overall fhs is diverse and any student can achieve success academically and socially."
