"I have a child at Midlo Middle, and after 2 years, we are leaving for private school. Midlo Middle is very inconsistent ...in terms of the teachers, the students, and the quality of the experience. For Center Based Gifted students, the experience is very different (and better) than for students in the general population. Many of the teachers are terrific and dedicated, but there are a number who are near retirement, and who seem to have lost their interest in helping children learn. They are 'punching the clock' at best, and we have experienced one who is actually a bully to a couple of the kids in her class. The students, too, can be coarse, and bullying is rampant. I'm not sure how different this is from other Middle School, and how much more the school can do to stop it, as I know that many detentions and much punishment has been meted out at different junctures. Netting it out, Midlo Middle is a good school if you don't have other options, but if you can swing private school, I would recommend it."

"When I was in sixth grade, I thought Midlo was the best school in the world. I was blinded by friendship and 'fun' at the time. Now that I've reached eighth grade, I feel like a different person. I'm not the best student in school, and have received many detentions. My point here is that many kids in my classes yell out much more vulgar and inappropriate phrases than what I say and receive nothing but a glare from the teachers, while I receive office refferals and detentions. The punishments are very inconsistent. The teachers view us students as test scores, not people. All I am in this school is a number. I am not heard. I am not treated well by the administration. I will be glad to leave in a few months."

"Some of the extra curricular activities are fun i guess but some of these teachers are completely inappropriate some are bipolar some are complete morons and some bully the students. There is a huge cockroach infestation and i have found many in my locker and in the locker room. The only good thing is the exploratory classes. All of the students are clones of each other, bratty stuck up rich kids. This neighborhood is a high end snooty place so don't expect to be treated nicely about your appearance, ever since I moved here i have been bullied and made fun of about my appearance. for the sake of your children do not move here. Once I got the answer wrong and I was pressured and yelled at until i got it right it made me cry and I was humiliated overall this school is terrible."

"I attended Midlothian Middle School. Most of the teachers are very nice and helpful, but I found that the some of students at the school were quite click-ish. Overall, most of the kids are nice and understanding"

"I had two children attend this school before entering Midlothian High School and finally college. Midlothian Middle did a wonderful job preparing my children for high school/college but also for life. They offer many after school activities and clubs so there is something for all students. They are very caring and really want your child to succeed. One of my children struggled with ADHD/ADD and the teachers, special ed., and guidance were extremely helpful and nurturing to my son. A "BIG" thank you to all the teachers at Midlothian Midlle School."
