"Deans school is a big disappointment. Esp. considering its a high tax paying district and a decent so called rating. Administration is dictatorship style! staff is condescending at best, unless you have and use the best people skills and don't take things personally. Physical condition of the premises is terrible. Wonder if the school was ever upgraded. Teachers are not too bad compared to the rest. School bus schedule is made for the convenience of sharing buses between schools, so they are very early for such small kids. All other school kids have to start an hour later. This does affect kids health esp during those brutal winter days. Kids don't get enough rest. Not enough time allowed for lunch or rest. Apparently, kids have chores built in the daily school routine too. Most importantly, school leadership and administration needs a big overhaul. All parents have a similar feedback and yet no change happens. I guess there is no recourse, since this is a dictatorship."

"We have been very happy with the services, staff (including front office) and education our son has received here. Please do not be deterred by the negative reviews!!! This an A+++ school (both campuses!) So far all of the teachers my son's had have been amazing, and this is his 4th year there. The administration and support staff will go out of their way to help your child if services are needed and you reach out to them. I do have to agree that the ethnic make-up of the school is not as diverse as some of the other schools in our district. This is not a flaw of the school, but something the school district as a whole may need to re-think in terms of redistricting. I do agree that it appears as if some classes have a better ethic mix than others, but that could be due to scheduling issues regarding special services students are receiving (who tend to be grouped together based on scheduling). My son has been able to make friends and find his niche socially regardless. The negative reviews are unfair & misleading. I was truthfully shocked upon reading some of them! If you take the time to get involved by volunteering just a little of your time, you will quickly see that I'm right."

"Very disappointed with Deans Campus of Brooks Crossing. I have a child in Deans Campus and another child in the Main Campus of Brooks Crossing. While the Main Campus is managed well the Deans Campus needs serious revamp. Teachers and staff are too young and inexperienced. Deans Campus upholds extreme policies far from a community based public school. The staff especially is very rude and even condescending. School events, such as Halloween, are a bore and a total waste of time children and parents. Children dressed in costumes were simply walked in circles if not for the music it seemed we were in mourning. Deans Campus is operated in an authoritarian manner, has no time to listen to parents concerns, even makes parents feel like we owe them, and that we should be fortunate to have them teach our children. What arrogance! Incredible insensitivity and indifference to the community that actually pay their salaries! Oh, did I forget to mention that it s an all-women run school. Wonder if the BOE is aware of how parents feel about Deans Campus of BC. Frustrated parent."

"The people at Dean's school seem to acquire manners that are starkly dictatorial. They do not listen, they think they know it all and they have this set number of objectives on what they construe to be the best educational policy for our children. If the norm is in question, the school lacks acceptance and works instead on a punishing program. This is detrimental to the socialization/behavioral progress of the total school population, it negates the positive behavior of teachers towards furthering the welfare and education of their students, and it creates a pessimistic front with parents who cannot understand why their problems/suggestions cannot be heard better. The physical make up of the school is in question too; why aren't there male teachers supplementing towards a healthier school environment? Worse still, the attitude of the school sparks off fire right down to the manner in which the school manages phone calls from parents. This is a school that needs training in understanding what the greater goals are towards the community and why the responsibility of the school is first and foremost to the children and NOT to themselves!"

"The negative comments here are bias and completely untrue. Should it matter what race children are?!???! I honestly thought we were past racism but if people are too ignorant to realize that I guess their opinion doesn't matter anyway. Teachers are young, commited and the children look up to them. As a former student I thought this was an excellent school and so did my two brothers that have went there. As for the budget Brooks Crossing along with every other man/woman in America is not having an easy time with money, regardless Brooks Crossing provides its students with everything one child might need including extra help. So unless money grows on trees for you and can afford to spend large sums on tutors or a private school Brooks Crossing isn't a bad choice at all"
