"In the 4 years that I went to VDLHS, I definitely got a handful of different teaching styles and unique teachers. They pride themselves in trying to make their students the most engaged they could possibly be in a classroom. When trying to engage the students in the classroom they make sure to try to know as much of their student's interests and outside lives in order to really relate to them. Of course like any other school, there are some, but not many teachers, that are easily detected as the "not wanting to be there" type. The thing that I enjoyed the most of the teachers I got in these 4 years was that there was not a single class that a teacher that did not try to relate their class topics to the real-world. These teachers are knowledgeable about what they are teaching, but they also keep themselves updated on what happens outside of the classroom, whether it be what is happening around the world or what is happening in their student's lives. Because these teachers are so involved it gives students the comfort of approaching them and communicating with them. For the most part, they consistently update grades and let their students know when they do so just in case if there are any correction needed to be made."

"The teachers, curriculum, scheduling process, workload, special study options, and popular classes are all great! Of course something needs improvement, but for the most part, everything seems to run smoothly. The students get to take some classes that go with their future career paths, which is great because they get early access to what it will be like when they go into that field of study."

"My overall experience was amazing at this school, the reason why this school is so unique is because everyone is very accepting of each other's uniqueness. The amount of support students and staff have with each other is honestly amazing! One way or another, everyone has a place somewhere around campus. I definitely would not do high school all over again, but if I had to I would want to go back to VDLHS again just because there was a vast amount of different experiences that happened here that have shaped me and prepared me for college."

"Everyone somehow becomes involved in something whether it be because of a class or because the want to be involved. Because there is so much diversity within the students themselves, such as ethnic/racial diversity and sexual orientation, people are pretty accepting towards everyone. The students here have strong beliefs on making the world a better place so any type of discrimination will not be tolerated and action will be taken against those who try to break the system."

"My favorite experience at Vista Del Lago is being apart of Health Academy because you get to know people that can relate to what you want to be in the future. We turn out to be a family for three years in high school. I also like when it college night because people come from university, cal states, and community college. They really can help you on knowing how to get there. If I was able to start over high school I will still go to Vista Del Lago because I have made some really great friends."
