"This school is horrible! We came from another local ISD where my child was in the top rated school for the area and attended the advanced classes; he was also a member of the A/B Honor roll EVERY semester since Pre-K. He gets to this school and it is like going backwards education wise. He has learned NOTHING new; they refuse to test him for their gifted education classes or to place him in the program. The library has a color code system and they will not let the children checkout books that are above their designated color. The new Principal is clueless and less than helpful as are the teachers, you actually have to go online and check grades because they will not communicate with you and let you know how your student is doing and get defensive when you ask why you were not notified. HOWEVER, that is assuming that they ACTUALLY keep the grade book up to date. This will be his one and only year at this travesty of education. They should just close this school down and use the funds elsewhere because the students are not getting any sort of quality education. I would NEVER recommend this school to ANYONE."

"my son just graduated from kindergarten and learned so much at Tyler. i do recommend this school. and my daughter will go there too. the teachers that i do know are really nice and are good with the kids. i rated the school by the teachers that i have experience my son has had there and by the parent/teacher relationship that i have/ had this past year. i highly recommend kindergarten teacher Mrs. Bell, she is very nice and understanding."

"This school has come such a long way in the three years it has been open. They have a new staff, and they are exceptional!! They also got 'recognized' status last year. My student loves going to this school, she is accepted and loved in the nurturing atmosphere, and is challenged mentally. Great school!!"

"I will be home schooling my children after having to contend with the administration and teachers at Tyler Elementry. I would not recommend this school to anyone."

"My daughter came here and hated it. The teachers are very bad teachers. They do not teach well. There is a 5th and 4th grade teacher she enjoys very much. One good thing the have is Gifted and Talented. It is a very poor looking school."
