"I myself graduated from the Mtn. Grove School system. I made the choice to live and raise my children in Mtn. Grove so they may attend this school. The teachers a great!! While they have a wonderful sports program, they have an even better Nursing program (you are able to become a cert. CNA, Building Trades, college courses through MSU WHILE you attend school. This is in the High School. They prepare students to become adults to function in todays society. Great head to toe!!"

"As a student, I can probably give you a good account of how this school runs, having been to this school since elementary and am now in high school. It is entirely true that this school puts a great deal of emphasis on sports -- and it is because they are good at it. They have a decent amount of sports (football, baseball, volleyball, cheer-leading, golf, and softball), but be warned that mostly the same people play these sports and have been for years. The quality of the education here is decent, but could be vastly improved upon. None of the curriculum is particularly challenging, so if your child is advanced, and gets bored easily, this isn't a good school for them. Even for average students, it is all busy work. I don't know much about the special education programs, but I don't put too much faith into them. Kids"

"Due to relocations my children (5) have attended schools in three different districts. Currently two are attending school in the MG district. If your primary consideration for a school is for your child to have an opportunity to play football, than this is a good fit for you. However if you choose to have an education with a broader base, then I would look to a neighboring community. (I want to say up front I love football, and all five of my children have played football, with a couple of them excelling at it.) If you take the time to check the MAP test scores for the area you will find MG scores the lowest in all catagories. The staff can be small minded, working for change is frustrating. Post primary-education assistance isnt stressed. Special needs are a battle that is draining. Still no handicapped-access at some school buildings. & more"

"My school has a very strong athletic program. My school also has a very strong extracurricular program. But academically, I believe there is a wide gap in student achievement. The only students who are really challenged are remedial students, and they never seem to get ahead. While this is probably because most of these students don't put the effort in. The most advanced students aren't challenged, because they have to sit through classes they are already ahead of. Regular students are getting a good education, but it really isn't anything special. There are a few exceptional teachers."

"I have 3 children in this school and I personally graduated from this school. Mtn. Grove is a great school. People can say that the community and administration put too much emphasis on sports, I however, can tell you, I didn't play sports and excelled in school and after school and am currently managing a business. My children all play sports...Kindergarten through 10th grade. The school has an academic requirement which is much higher than surrounding schools. They have a no F policy which keeps kids working hard academically and in sports. There no F policy means not even one F. The teachers in this school are overall very good teachers who care about the students. The administration in this school is mostly former students and have the school's best interest at heart. The YMCA and the school work closely together. This is an outstanding school."
