"I enjoy going to Chaparral. The improv team and the drama department are outstanding at this high school and should be the number one activity that all freshman go to. I don't like the extreme safety procedures this school is enforcing though. It's overkill."

"Most teachers offer help for students after school, especially AP teachers for chemistry and calculus. Most of the staff are very friendly and engage with students with language that puts students and teachers on the same level."

"The majority of the teachers at Chaparral High School go out of their way to ensure that their students have every opportunity to receive quality education. Several supervise the various clubs that bring life to the campus, which range from tutoring for the SAT and the ACT, to the Black Student Union, which provides many educational opportunities for African- American students. Every teacher has their own individual style of making their lessons memorable, like the Socratic Seminars in several of the English classes, which enable students to hold educational discussions about varying topics. One improvement that some teachers could make is to make grading more consistent, as sometimes grades are not as accurate as they could be, because some teachers take weeks to input grades, which makes it difficult to gauge one's progress. Overall, however, Chaparral's teachers make learning personal, and open the door for many opportunities."

"Many of the teachers at Chaparral High School are great. I have had amazing luck and have had some of the best teachers on campus, including the teacher of the year 2015, Mrs. Jackie Schmidt. Most of the teachers are willing to meet outside of class time, especially during a period dedicated to helping students catch up."
