"This year the school has changed leadership. The year started off running smoothly, but it is taking an uncomfortable turn. The teachers are excellent, but have no support. They are fearful of not having their contracts renewed. They leaderships lack of experience is evident. Both the principal and director are new to their positions. They both good at teaching, but not great leaders. Training is needed. The parts of the school that make it different and make it a school worth driving to are being removed. The performing arts teacher was let go after 7 years and no explanation was given to anyone. The music teacher is being stripped of his creativity and not allowed to teach as he always has. The programs that made the school special are no longer special, and the communication at the school is seriously lacking. I have been in to discuss matters with the principal and I receive no answers at all.The teachers do not have answers and are left in the dark on many things. It is sad that such a fantastic school is falling apart after such growth for so many years.Like her or not the last principal knew how to create a great team and great program. Now it is falling apart."

"This school is like winning the educational lottery for your child. I went to a fine arts magnet educational school when I was young, but this school has blown the school I went to out of the water. The teachers take the time to make sure each child understands what they are learning. Not only is the education excellent, but the people are amazing as well. You get the parents who are really involved in their children's lives and their well being. What an amazing atmosphere they have here. I feel so blessed to have my children go here."

"My son started Kindergarten this year, ad has done extremely well. I am very impressed with the Spanish classes and thrilled my son will be taught a second language throughout his time at TVCS. However, I will say that with the constant shuffling from one area to another is very tough on the kids. My one major complaint is the parents and the drama they bring into the classroom. Many parents stir up problems or create clicks with other parents, which is inappropriate because this causes conflict for the kids as well. To these parents, this isn't a chance for you to be Ms. Popularity.. its about the kids. Grow up!"

"This school is amazing!! The API scores speak for themselves. This is one of the only schools in the district to offer language, VAPA, science and computer lab to ALL students, K-8. They teach a very well rounded curriclum and my 3 sons have thrived there. The performing arts program is outstanding! I have seen productions there that are better than shows that I had to drive to LA and spend $85 to see! All of the pullout classes are top notch and so much more than what other schools in the area offer. I noticed that there are a few negative reviews, mainly complaining about "clicky" parents or teachers, but this simply isn't the case. This is a school of choice and it requires a high level of parent involvement. I have a feeling that the one's who complained were parents unconfortable with being hands-on and dealing with staff and other parents. You should really be your own judge. Visit the school and see for yourself. Talk to the admin, teachers and students and you'll find a passion for learning that I haven't seen at any other district school. These kids love TVCS."

"Great school!! I have two in this school one was behind for two years in math at his last school. Within one year he is now doing the math he should be for his grade. No school is perfect but this school is one of those that is close as you can get. There is no singling out kids, if the new principal is talking to your kids there is a reason. The school is now it's own employer like all the other charter schools in California the charter was renewed and employs a new principal, employs it's own teachers. If you have complaints come change things get involved we all have to volunteer every month. The outlook for the school is changing and it looks like all it's going to do is get better. I do not agree with the bad reviews. I had my children in the public school and was not impressed and did not like the school. All schools get bad reviews and good reviews all you can do is come to the school and see for yourself."
