"We have the most dedicated teachers, staff and children. We are focussed on getting the most out of every moment we have together."

"I am currently a teacher at Muskegon Heights High School and I can say that the school definitely has the needs of the students in mind when we plan school reform. Many students, parents, and community leaders do not understand the pressures that teachers are placed under by the state when it comes to preparing students for standardized test. With the inception of No Child Left Behind, that pressure has increased. I have read the reviews on this site and some have angered me, and some have made me smile. As a teacher, I know that myself and my colleagues come to work every day with the intention of giving 100% of ourselves to our kids. We come to work early and we stay late. We have things that we can do better, and we are headed in that direction."

"I am currently a senior at Michigan State University. I was born and raised in Muskegon Heights. I attended Edgewood Elementary, MHMS and MHHS. I am confident that my education at Muskegon Heights public schools is the reason why I am in college today. The faculty cares a lot about their students. The students that get the most from the curriculum are the students that are determined to make something of themselves instead of living a mediocre life. Individuals that make negative comments about Muskegon Heights public schools are students and parents that want to console themselves for their lack of effort as parents and as students. High performing students are the result of good schools and good parents that help children stay motivated. -Neisha Cox, class of 2003"
