"even though newman isn't perfect, the positives are way bigger than the negatives and compared to other schools in new orleans (and probably louisiana) of the same excellent academic caliber, this is your best bet. although newman is a little lacking in school spirit, the community here is unrivaled. teachers, students, and administration have very close relationships and are always approachable and eager to help and the high school is small enough that everyone knows people in all 4 grades. newman is unique in that it is basically a second home to many students. its resources are unparalleled and always at students' disposal as long as they know where to look. students visiting from out of state sometimes call us "newman univeristy" and in a way, they're not wrong. take the honors track in high school and if you know how to persevere, speak up when needed, and stick with the right crowd, you can't go wrong with newman."

"overall, from pre-k through high school, the teachers are top notch. all of the teachers at newman genuinely care, are easy to access and have close relationships with the students, and for the most part are good teachers. unfortunately, some of the best teachers at newman (and in other schools around the city) have moved away to states like new york and california and it's getting harder to find good new hires, but even still, the teachers are good for the most part. honors classes are sometimes better than AP classe in terms of how interesting the class is and how much busywork you get, but even in the worst of AP classes, you'll still be able to get a good AP test score"

"Most teachers are very knowledgable in their respective fields and put a lot of thought and detail into their lesson plans. However, some cannot follow their own lesson plans and waste time, making it impossible to learn all the necessary material by the end of the year."
