"John Curtis Christian High School River Ridge: My grandson transferred to John Curtis after starting 7th grade at another local school. In October, 2011, he transferred into Curtis. He is a special needs student with adhd and dyslexia. He was not doing well at the other school both academically and personally. He went to Curtis with a chip on each shoulder. He certainly was not an achiever in any area. He just graduated from 8th grade this spring. I am so proud of him. His outlook on life is "get it done". The two "mean" girls that head the lower school, Ms. Nachary and Ms. Rickner know how to communicate with the kids. No nonsense but fair. Own up to your mistakes and correct them. It works. Sports play a big role at this school; but there is a life lesson learned from participating. I love this school for the care and concern they have for their students. Forever grateful."

"Great school!! JCC was recommended by another parent I met at a auto repair body shop in Kenner. I am grateful our paths crossed because this is my daughter's third year at JCC and she loves it. JCC's academic curriculum is well advance. The teacher's pushes the student beyond their full potential. JCC has a family atmosphere and your child can thrive academically as well as an athletic. The last two years my daughter has scored on the advance level for the yearly achievement tests. If you want to make a worthy investment in your child's education this school is the #1 choice in Louisiana. You will not be disappointed for the Return On Investment."

"I was your run of the mill bad apple. Bad grades, bad attitude, you name it. My mind was made up that I was dropping out of high school at 17. My parents, both graduates of the school, enrolled me at Curtis in a last ditch effort to get me to graduate. First and foremost, I did not compete athletically for the school in any form. Regardless, it took me all of a day at Curtis to realize that dropping out was not the way to go. The teachers were hands on and involved with the students, creating personable lesson plans that made learning fun and interesting. This differs from most schools as it isn't just your typical "read through the chapter and do the work at the end of it" ordeal. Free thinking discussions were encouraged and invited from the students by the teachers. School spirit is evident as soon as you walk through the front double doors. When students are released from one class to another, you see nothing but a sea of smiles from kids who are happy to be there. Most students are proud to attend. In short, Curtis changed my life. Excellence from top to bottom. A caring atmosphere brought about by a family and faculty who offer guidance and direction to the students."

"I graduated from John Curtis in 1996. I came from a Catholic school in Hammond and a public school in Laplace before attending this school. Curtis is the best school that I have ever attended! The teachers pushed us to our limits academically as well as the coaches in athletics. But, what seperates Curtis from other schools is the fact that they care and they know where the students are at all times. I could not even skip one period, much less a day of school. They care and they treat each student as a child of their own, THAT ALONE is what seperates John Curtis from every other school in the area. The school was founded on a simple idea from SR., that education and the family go hand and hand."

"This is our son's first year at JCC and we absolutely love it, can't say enough things about it. We've switched schools every year for the past 3 years in search of a perfect fit for him and are so happy to call JCC home. They have diversity, academics, extra-curricular activities and affordable tuition (not to mention bus transportation). The academics are great and the famly atmosphere everyone speaks of is true. Never have I felt so comfortable with a school principal as I have with Mrs. Eustler. She truly cares and has a hands on approach to running the school, something we didn't find at other schools. They work with you to see that your child succeeds. Sports is a huge influence but academics is a top priority as well. Great school."
