"I am upset that a few disgruntled parents are bashing my kid's school. If their kids weren't successful there, perhaps it was because they thought they were better than everyone else. Because a teacher sends her kid somewhere else doesn't mean that Sacred Heart isn't a good school. The kid might need special services. There are a number of kids in the school whose parents work in the public schools and choose to send the kids to Sacred Heart. And yes, they are probably good students. Their parents must want more for them than they could get somewhere else and think Sacred Heart is the place for them. Perhaps they want an environment based in love. I say that if you want to leave, just go away. Don't try to take down a wonderful school because you don't always get your way. Sacred Heart has a loving atmosphere where the kids frequently hug their teachers. They know the teachers love them and do their best for them. The administration is dedicated to meeting the needs of each kid and will work with parents and teachers to see that everyone is served equally, regardless of their ability to pay. I think we have a great school with many happy families."

"Anyone interested in giving their children a great education, with caring, exceptional teachers, staff and administration in a Catholic School setting should consider Sacred Heart School! We are "actual parents" as well writing this review, and our two children are high achievers who are also kind, compassionate kids who LOVE their school, their teachers, and the students as a whole. Our kids aren't attending on scholarship or state funds, and why that should matter is appalling. If you're of the elitist mentality, then NO, Sacred Heart may not be a good fit for you and the children you are raising. But if you are concerned with producing children that will be well educated, caring, and have a strong moral compass, you will be very pleased with our great school. Teachers "pulling their own kids out" of school can happen anywhere, and that is their personal decision. But claiming they are the exceptional teachers that are employed at this school is a huge exaggeration. Every teacher or staff member that has left has been replaced with someone equally or better fitted to our kids and our school. SHS is still the same exceptional school it has ever been. Come join our Family!"

"This school is not what it used to be and that is very unfortunate. A few years ago it was a top notch school that emphasized not only good morals and values but offered a high quality education to students. Now there is a serious lack of communication, lower academic standards, unaddressed behavior problems with students. Two highly respected teachers at the school pulled their children out of the school unexpectedly and put them in public schools. Students went at least 5 weeks without textbooks. Classroom size is much higher than public schools and this school has since fired most of its aides that helped in the classrooms. I feel bad for the teachers that are still there because they do try but are fighting an uphill battle due to the ineptness of the administration. The ones that are affected most by these events are the children. So much time has to be given to all of the newer students that are not up to the school's previous standards that the students who are higher achievers are forced to be mediocre. It is very unfair to the children. The diocese that oversees this school has refused to speak to me or return my calls. Avoiding the problem will not fix it."

"Response to post 9/11/13: my child receives a scholarship to attend Sacred Heart & it does NOT come from the PTA. Our scholarship is provided by the State of Florida. There are slightly more children in the classes than in public schools. However, these kids are advanced behaviorally & achedemically. The early learning start here is unheard of! My child scores 100% on every exam due to the Pre-k and Kindergarten early start here. The principal & teachers are capable, educated, and involved. All my child's teachers are fantastic and happy in their positions. I am a tax payer, a person who has a higher education and one that collects a state scholarship. If you feel your child's school shouldn't allow scholarships, Temple Bethel is the school for you. They don't take state assistance. The Catholic tradition has always been community centered. You will find the most accomplished students are on scholarships just like those that I went to Catholic school with 30 years ago at OLL. They have phD's and I expect my child & yours will as well & as long as they remain at Sacred Heart. We live this 5 star school & our kids are happy, challenged, and safe here."

"We have been part of the mass exodus from Sacred Heart in the past four years. There are many posts about them recognizing Giftedness. What a joke. The PTO doesn't control its own money - it gets raised then used for scholarship for poor, but not academically able students & all the focus is on their tutoring needs. If your kid is average, decent choice. But if you strive, wrong place! Florida has a gifted certification process for teachers and the local gifted program has gifted certified teachers using real gifted practices, classes of gifted peers so your kid doesn't have to pretend she's not smart to fit in or stand out too much. I moved my gifted daughter out into an actual gifted program, tired of believing their lies and its the best move I ever made. Do not believe what people repping the school write and try to pass off as parent reviews. This parent is real! The Science Teacher even sent her son to the local gifted program!!"
