"In my school, there isn't a lot of drama, it's more of a learning environment and everyone strives to do well. Everyone in our school is recognized as intelligent in their own way. No one is looked at as though they are incompetent. There are times when we take learning experiences and apply it to each and every subject. Applying each and every subject to one another allows the mind set of a student to work harder in each subject equally. Where one students weakness could actually become a strength with due time."

"In East Side Community High School, each teacher I=engages in every students grades, thoughts and helps each and every student when the truly need it. The teachers actually care for you and request for students to come to early morning breakfast or afterschool to get extra help. Teachers also open up their lunches for students to get extra help. In the AP English class, our teacher makes us have seminars and open discussions on books while we analyze them with a Psychoanalytical, Marxist, Feminist and bell hooks kind of mindset. The teachers in my school actually make us think and its a great thing that our school curriculum is not based on common core, but it's based on social events and deeper thinking on historical aspects."

"East Side provides a comforting home to all varieties of students. No matter who you are or where you come from, respect and opportunities are the same. You are given many chances to learn and get support outside of school too and is up to the individual to decide whether they're willing to take them or not"

"I love this high school. Without East Side, I would not have had such an successful career. I was helped with everything I needed. I was helped to apply to SEO, Sponsors of Educational Opportunity. They have helped me struggle through challenges and find the better outcomes to situations. Even though we do not have a proper gym, East Side has provided us with a gym outside of the school. They have allowed us to travel for tournaments. For example, the basketball team (including me) has traveled to Canada. East Side is very open and cares for students. When students, like myself, organized a protest in favor of Eric Garner, East Side Staff only encouraged us and never punished us."
