"Many parents care about their child and also the success of other teens from these school. Also the parents see other students achievements which help them motivate their own children to do good in school."

"When I had to pick a high school to go to when I first moved here in the US, I just chose the closest school without checking the quality of eduction I would be getting. This school was Newtown and it was a decision that I mostly regret. I am a relatively high-achieving student, and the opportunities that are offered in this school are somewhat lacking. There are few actual classes that I can take that would challenge me and show my potential. They do not offer many AP classes either. The normal classes are often filled with less than satisfactory students who do not care about high school as much as they should, and that often gets in the way of those who actually want to succeed. I believe this to be partly because the teachers fail to motivate and/or challenge the students to do and aim for more. Another thing that bothers me is that they aren't very strict in their rules and regulations. They are very lenient towards the students, leaving next to no room to mold them into better people. Some kids completely disregard the rules, cutting class and ignoring the dress code and challenging the authorites and even smoking in the campus. They are somewhat disorganized. The way they take attendance leaves quite a window for error. My first few weeks during my junior year, my schedule had so many problems that I got passed around class to class to class. It was a troublesome situation, and my schedule only got finalized around October. Although, I would be lying when I say I hate this school. It isn't entirely bad; it has good points as well. For example, Newtown High School is the most culturally diverse high school in all of New York City. Considering the demographics of the city, this is quite a big deal. This gives the school a lot of diversity and representation. I also noticed that there is no racism in this school, maybe because of this fact. Newtown also has quite a nice campus. It has a lot of tutoring opportunies and extracurricular activities. It has"

"I used to hate this school when I was a freshman. But, when freshman year was over I actually loved it. My favorite experience in Newtown was when I got invited to go to events by my SLC. Another would be that all the teachers I met, I've develop a good relationship with. The school is unique for its diversity and some celebrities that have graduated from there (Zoe Saldana). If I was able to choose this high school again, I would and do everything all over again. I made such great friends, welcomed new people, and developed positive relationships with the teachers."

"My favorite part of this school was the music program. It was the precursor that began my passion towards my BA in General Music and Minor in Production and Film scoring in college."
