"Rodeph Sholom provides one of the warmest and most welcoming communities that one could hope to find in NYC. The academics are excellent and improving and the school has one of the best teacher to student ratios you will find. Students of all abilities can flourish here from the nursery through elementary division. However, once your child gets to the Middle School, he/she will be challenged similar to the very top schools in the city and this one may not be nurturing enough any longer. The one downside is the lack of space (a new building was just added) and a severe shortage of gymnasium space. If you want your child to be a real Mensch and learn enough about his Jewish roots (although not to excess), this is the place. The school's placement record into the top high schools in the city is excellent."
