    "Prospective students and parents should examine safety, supervision and structure before registering into Pine View School. The gifted education curriculum at Pine View School is one grade level above average grade level and easy to obtain. Gifted students receive full time "gifted" education at any Sarasota County Public School in the Sarasota County School District. Students from many Sarasota County Public Schools perform extraordinary accomplishments locally, nationally and internationally without attending Pine View School. Research is key."

    "As a parent I have had a mixed experience with Pine View. There is a very high expectation from students. If a student does not maintain a high GPA within the academic year they are expelled from Pine View. This is understood by all students and parents and is part of the 'contract'. However no such 'contract' is imposed on the teachers. There are many teachers in Pine View that are simply appalling. The students, parents and most importantly management know who they are and yet they are given a free pass from year to year. They are never 'expelled' and are not even encouraged to improve their feeble performance. The students in their classes suffer from the stress of being inadequately taught and are forced to cover for their teacher's inabilities. A system where students AND teachers are held accountable is badly needed in this school, but management does not seem to have the willpower to introduce such a system. On the plus side, Pine View has a very engaged student and parent population. Your child will be very safe here, bullying is not an issue. Some teachers excel. But there is huge room for improvement."

    "This school has way to much pride in what they are, which is stressful, awkward, and a bad environment. I came here in 6th grade and am now in 7th, and I have to say, I am not at all pleased with this school. I agree after being here for 2 years that 50% of people are already 13 year old adults(Over pressed with stress and pre-maturity). Teachers and staff vary so much in their abilities. For instance, my math teacher is EXTREMELY well educated about what he teaches, and how. On the other hand, my LA teacher comes to class in a bad mood and gives people F's on assignments they deserved a A on. It's incredibly frustrating! If you are thinking about coming here, consider whether it is worth losing 5-10 years of your life and friends for a .01 percent higher GPA(at best). In my opinion, the high stress here has decreased my grade and I feel trapped. You only live your life once, and if I could have gone to another school 2 years ago I definitely would have. Bottom-line: Don't come here because our test scores are 1% higher. Make a smart decision with your life. Trust me- you'll regret it if you don't."

    "I have two children at Pine View and most of what is said on this site is true. There are pluses and minuses as in every school and most of the issues at this school are common among the entire US educational system. Pine View s student population is high IQ in an ecosystem of below average schools in Florida. This is the school s biggest asset and the high test scores are attributed to the kid s drive and intelligence. The downside is that the caliber of the teaching staff is mixed from exceptional to poor. This is an issue shared with every school in the US we are just not attracting the top talent to teaching anymore. If Pine View and probably every other US school replaced its bottom half of teacher s both national and international scores would improve tremendously. Having said this it is hard to rank this school. As compared to the state of Florida, it is a 5. As compared to the nation, it is a 3 and could be improved by going to national curriculum and testing. As compared to the International, we get a 2 and that is generous!"

    "My son attended Pine View from 2nd grade through 8th. I never recommend this school. We left Florida in large part because the school was so unsatisfactory for our exceptionally bright son who was made to feel unworthy by teachers who mostly would not pass the entrance test to be students there. They are tickled to deal with the minority of incredibly bright kids kids in the room that require teachers to only keep out of their way, but any child that needs help beyond that is made to feel feable-minded. Pine View may think itself an elite private school, but it's not - in so many ways. No sports, no music, no theatre, no fun. My son attended a private prep high school up north and had to scramble to improve math and writing skills that proved inferior in that environment after 7 years at Pine View. Go Pythons."
