"Greenbriar is a fabulous school with a caring princepal who knows the name of EVERY child and knows what their interests are. The teachers are a perfect blend of seasoned professionals and vibrant newcomers. The Greenbriar parent community is supportive of the kids and the school, thus producing a great environment for the kids. I highly recommend this school!"

"I have taught at various schools/districts and believe this school to be absolutely top notch. Never have I seen an entire staff so dedicated to the success of each and every student!"

"Greenbriar School has all the resources needed to educate children to the max. I love the teachers for the most part. I have never felt excited about the principal. She seems shallow and transparent, all about her. I love my children attending there."

"Greenbriar is a good school with good test scores. The school has art, science and music programs and more resources than most public schools. However, in my child's experience, the teachers have not typically taken a special interest in my children's needs despite the low student to teacher ratio and high dollars expended per student. The teachers and administration want everyone to fit into a certain mold and if they do not, they are perceived as a nuisance. (In reality I suspect this to be a tendency at most schools.) The teachers tend to be young and inexperienced or older and set in their ways. Overall this is a good school but don t expect greatness."

"Greenbriar school is in Northbrook's District 28. It is an outstanding school. Academics are of high calibur; guided literacy, phonics, Trailblazer math, science lab for all students, computer lab, p.e. every day, art and music every week. Most importantly, there is a teacher's aide in every classroom k-5th grade, which means that students have 2 adults in the classroom! PTO is very successful and has amazing programs, such as Art Adventure, Greyhound Games, County Fair, Carnival, etc. Demographics are diverse for the north shore: majority are christian, some jewish and muslim. Vast majority are caucasian and others are asian, mexican, europian. Economic backgrounds also vary, most are comfortable but peppered with needier families. Kids at Greenbriar, regardless of their own economic backgrounds seem uninterested in 'who has what' which makes it a special place! Majority of the students walk to school, making pick up and drop off a social time forparentstoo!"
