"I am a parent of two incoming 10th graders at SMHS. My girls' concern (mine too) about this school is the two bullies that have been bullying them all through 9th grade with the help of their parents. The two bullies have their way of spreading rumors, manipulating social relationships with common acquaintances/friends and promoting social exclusions. The administrator who happens to be in charge of bullying in this school is very ineffective. He is a former cop from San Rafael, California. Former & current students I spoke with say that he is not sensitive enough and not well trained enough to handle this highly sensitive topic of bullying in schools. I thus rate this school in handling issues such as bullying in school as very poor. In addition, the school is not diverse enough when it comes to ethnic groups. In fact, I rate it simply as a white school. If you want diversity and safe environment for your teens, don't go to this school. Novato High School may be a better school when it comes to diversity."
