"In the beginning of the year, everyone said Downers Grove North is one of the best high schools anyone could go to, and it is true. Teachers help the students out so much. Everyone was worried about the ACT, but sophomore year, the school has the students take a practice ACT, and if they do bad, students will be put into a ACT classes, that helps students prepare for the ACT. I loved the physical education classes I took, and wish I could have taken more. My favorite class out of every single one, was the Intro to Teaching class, because I actually took a class that would prepare for my future. The assembly's were always full of energy. I have made great friends throughout high school and hope to keep them. The only things I didn't like was my math teacher senior year, girls lacrosse not being considered a sport, and no girls hockey team. Other than those three things, high school has been great."

"I absolutely loved this high school and miss it frequently. I was involved in a number of programs from photography, to environmental club, to Snowball (anti-drug/alcohol program) and enjoyed my time in all of the equally. There was a strong emphasis on school spirit and the student/parent section at athletic games were always packed. Another quality that made this school amazing was that there was hardly any bullying or "cliques", all students got along and supported each other no matter what their ethnicity, income level, or interests. As far as curriculum goes, I felt that the school held its students to high academic standards and most students took at least one AP course if not multiple. There were a number of resources students could turn to if they were struggling in school, whether they needed personal counseling, academic help, or college planning. If I could have the opportunity to send my children to North High School, I would."

"There are a lot of teachers I haven't had, so I am going off of the teachers I have had. Overall, my teachers were okay. I mainly like five to seven teachers, and all but one was in the classes that dealt with physical education. I probably liked them, but that is because I am currently studying to become a physical education teacher. The other teacher I liked, was the teacher helping me study to become a physical education teacher. I have, also, had two bad teachers. This first teacher taught English, and I ended up with her my freshman and senior year. She wasn't terrible, but she good. She was late on getting everything back, wouldn't respond to emails, even though she said in the beginning of the year, that is the best way to reach her. The other teacher is awful. This teacher teaches precalculus. His teaching ways, are awful. He doesn't teach well at all. I know teaching is difficult, since I am student teaching right now, but including myself, there are three student teachers in the class, and we can all teach his class a lot better then what he could do. The highest grade out of his two classes is a eighty three percent, and everyone else has a D, F, or trying to maintain a C. He is ridiculous, and I don't feel this way, everybody does. When he gets observed, he is a different teacher, and everyone feels like we learned something, and could remember it. He is the worst teacher I have had since kindergarten, and I know that is saying a lot."
