"At HNHS, we are very close-knit mostly because, the school is so small that everyone pretty much knows everyone else. We have our few bad teachers but we also have great teachers."

"All of my teachers have been thorough with their lesson plans, excited about the subjects they teach, and cater to students who may struggle with the material. Holy Names challenges students to think outside the box and all ideas are welcomed."

"The teachers are amazing and incredibly devoted to their students. They have office hours after school and always make themselves available to their students for extra help. Teachers truly care about the students at holy names and want to see us shine."

"I am so glad that I chose Holy Names. The small class sizes and nurturing environment have allowed me to thrive and the tight-knit sense of community is awesome. Teachers truly care about their students and there is not of the fake clique-y behaviour you get at most other schools. Furthermore, our arts program is amazing and on top of that we have great academic programs with awesome opportunities for students. Students often share that they were somewhat reluctant to attend an all girls high school where you have to wear a uniform, but people quickly find that they love holy names not in spite of the all girls thing but because of it. People are so natural and kind here, and even though it is a small school, people are able to find their niche. There is something for everyone. What I love most about Holy Names is that they don't just care about your academics, but they also care about you as a person. They really try to shape their students into the best versions of themselves by pushing us academically, encouraging us to become engaged in our school community and the outside world, and helping us develop a sense of social responsibility by taking us on service trips throughout the Bay Area. Although students complain that we don't have boys, that we have to wear a uniform, that we don't have a "sports culture", and that the social scene can be a little dry, I think the pros of Holy Names outweigh the cons."
