"The good: The community here is really inclusive and accepting. Sure, you get the occasional bad egg or bully, but the overwhelming majority is pretty good. When the teachers are good, they're great; when the teachers are bad, they're horrible. Luckily, there are far more good teachers than bad. All in all, I've had a good experience. The bad: It's very very difficult, as a student, to create an education plan that's right for you. It's nearly impossible to get early release or delayed entry, unless you have a note from a doctor, even if you have all required credits or are taking multiple online classes. I had a very hard time trying to find information about dual enrollment at the local community college. There is a huge stigma amongst the counselors and administration against custom education plans like dual enrollment, delayed entry & early release, and even taking different core classes. For example, a friend who chose to take three (three!!!) science classes was put in calculus instead of her chosen astronomy. When she asked for a change, she was met with disrespectful and impolite opposition. The administration. Does. Not. Respect. The. Students. We feel like sheep. We cannot stop to talk to a friend between classes, even if we have eight minutes to get to a destination less than a minute away. Constantly, whistles are blown in our ears and golf carts plow through crowds without warning. (Please note that administration does not include teachers. Most teachers feel the same way about administrators.) Looking at this, it's obvious that I've written more bad than good. But the bad is what sticks out in my mind the most, because it's what made me feel the strongest emotions. But day to day, my experience is good -- because it's normal for me to be happy here, the things that are out of the norm are most prominent."

"It's very difficult to rate teachers because they vary massively depending on experience, course level, and subject. My art and history teachers are some of the best I've ever had, but other teachers can be anywhere from ineffective to actually disrespectful to the students. I am choosing my rating based on the teachers that I have had."

"The quality of the teachers vary greatly among the individuals. I've had some teachers I hope to never see again, and I've had some teachers who I wish could guide me everyday; some I adored, some I abhorred."

"The teachers that I had over the course of 4 years have been quite unique. Some are very friendly and knowledgeable of what subject they're teaching. Others might be over their heads in a way that seems intimidating or insulting in a manner of speaking. My best year was freshman year because all of my teachers were friendly. As the next three years moved forward, I've always had one teacher that was a little off of their schedule in grading assignments and getting grades in online in time for reports."

"Because I take higher level courses, the teachers tend to be some of the best. Most teach through taking notes and lecturing while at times incorporating technology from time to time. All of my teachers are very knowledgeable in their subject and are capable of going in depth on random things just for the fun of it. Many offer tutoring before and after school and stay as late as their schedule allows them. I do not feel intimidated to converse with them and have a good relationship with my teachers. However, a few do slack on grading which other put in grades within a day. Overall, I believe they are great teachers and I often recommend my lowerclassmen friends to take their classes."
