"Father Augustine is a fine pastor and leader. Staff may have approached him because they were displeased with moving out of their comfort zones. Too often, the old, "we've always done it this way and it works" adage is what anchors us in the past. I for one have no intention of removing my child from this loving environment. I am sorry to see some teachers go. On the other hand, some needed to go if they could not adapt to a new way of doing things. Many fine teachers remain. I pray that this school will survive this storm and return to its glory. May those who have left come back and visit at an open house to see the changes as they are implemented. They may reconsider their choice. I am rating parent involvement a five, but perhaps some of the problems being seen now is over-involvement of some parents who have been there many years, Just a thought."

"I have to address the negative comments from the parent posted July 17th. The current leadership of St. Charles was brought in to make changes (painful as we all find that). Enrollment had plummeted prior to her arrival due to internal problems as well as the economic downturn. The negative environment may in part be due to the fact that staff and/or teachers don't want to change. As for staff leaving over the summer, frankly, some needed to go. Loyalty is an admirable quality, but being unable to let go of the past and embrace the new leadership is misplaced loyalty. Parents are pulling their children out because they (the parents) are uncomfortable with changes being implemented, not the children being unhappy. What saddens me is this school has such wonderful things to offer, yet parental politicking seems to bog it down. To leave the school without giving these new things a chance is wrong. I have a tough time with change like most people do, but I intend to stick with St. Charles and show the school (not individuals) but the SCHOOL, my support. Please stop by and see what St. Charles can offer your child/children. Submitted by a parent"

"The current administration of the school is leading it down the wrong path. As a graduate and now former parent of a child at St. Charles, I am utterly appalled at the negative atmosphere currently present at St. Charles. Just this summer, we have lost several staff members due to the problems at the school. Enrollment seems to be going down rapidly. Parents are yanking children out right and left. The problems are even carrying over to the parish, where the Pastor, whom parents and staff approached months ago, has done nothing to resolve these issues. I can't believe I'm saying this, but do NOT enroll your children at St. Charles!"

"My daughters are blossoming at St. Charles. This is our second school and I cannot express what a positive difference St. Charles has made to our family. The most important thing - the teachers REALLY know our daughters. When I talk to them I am amazed at the complete understanding they have - in a way that only teachers who are really dedicated do. My girls are getting a wonderful Catholic education and a wonderful education complete with arts, music, computers and opportunities for programs for those students who excel in certain areas. The best part - THEY feel special and loved and secure."

"Not enough great things can be said about St. Charles. When you think of how a school should be in terms of good strict discipline, well rounded respectful children and extremely bright students This school fits the bill. It doesn't matter if you are catholic, the academics supersede any school in central Florida...I have done the research. It's a working class private school with real people who care about where their children go to school. Our daughter LOVES this school, and since pre-k she has been reading about two grades above her level thanks to their superb curriculum. With all the horrible middle schools in Orlando it's comforting to know that St. Charles has K through 8 covered so no need to worry about that crucial in-between stage before high school. If you are a parent who is truly involved in your child's learning journey, St. Charles is the school!!"
