    "I disagree with the comments that have been posted regarding LNS. My son has attended this school since Kindergarten and has had nothing but a positive experience. It was the school that placed him in the gifted program after 1st grade not me. He has maintained this status due to his performance.Of the 67 school Districts in FL Sarasota was 1 of only 5 schools that advanced after the 2012 FCAT in ranking and contiues to be in the top 5-8 placement for districts every year. I have found the admisistrave staff and teachers to always respond professionaly and promptly if i have any concern with my sons school performance or any personal issues. Communication is key. As for events and such, the PTO does a wonderful job of raising money for our students and teachers to help costs. If you are not involved shame on you. You might have a better understanding of the budget cuts for our kids and how successful the PTO has been in raising extra money. My son will be entering Middle School this year. LNS Middle school is one of the top school choice schools in Sarasota. LNS is a wonderful school do not let the other reviews sway you from sending your child."

    "Principal Nancy Dubin is a disgrace to the profession. She blatantly and repeatedly discriminates against children with disabilities. Within the first four months of the school year, 10 children with disabilities were forced out of LNS by Dubin. How is this legal?! Why is she allowed to get away with this?! She is rude, cold and condescending to parents and students alike. She is uninvolved in the daily activities of the school, and you will likely never set eyes on her until or unless your child becomes her target. Nancy Dubin has grossly abused her administrative position to her students detriment."

    "How many complaints does the administration need to hear over the exact same issues in these reviews and parent complaints before they take action? They are plenty aware of the "cafeteria" issue yet the teacher you are speaking of remains on duty. This year has been an eye opener as far as where the loyalty is, and I can guarantee it is not with the students. It is in protecting incompetent teachers, horrific administrative decisions, and in $$$$. Our family will not be returning next year."

    "Not happy with this school at all. I have yet to see the principal outside during dismissal or in the cafeteria during lunch time. It's a free for all during pick up. Kids are walking through lined up cars to get into their car, which is extremely dangerous. Anyone can pick up your kid, they don't check. Also, I went to have lunch with my child for his birthday and sat in the cafeteria only to be in utter shock at what I was seeing. The lunchroom monitor Mr. Jim was like a prison warden. The group of 2nd graders were yelled at and told they were getting a silent lunch the following day because they were too loud. I was right there, they weren't too loud, they were simply talking. Mr. Jim comes to our table and starts squirting disinfectant cleaner all over the table while half of the children are still eating! How rude! He hands the rag to a child who is told to clean all 3 of the tables. Seriously isn't that what custodians are for? I understand teaching the kids to throw away there trash but when it comes to using chemicals that is a custodians job. Also, Mr. Jim sits down next to the children and eats with them. Besides that 5th graders don't get a regular recess."
