"Oxford High School has been a real disappointment to us. We are fortunate in having highly motivated kids. Those kids who aren't highly motivated don't fare very well. Many children fall through the cracks. The school cares predominantly about test scores rather than the content of a given course. We have had occasion to try to speak with the administrators and the principal regarding an individual circumstance and we were met with complete and utter resistance. Not only did they fail to adequately address our concerns, they were concurrently deeply unpleasant to deal with. Oxford's priorities appear to lie in the realm of sports and appearance (a mosaic of a hornet in the lobby of the middle school) at the expense of worthy programs that enable kids, in this complex world, to function well. The teachers, however, are dedicated though overworked professionals. We have been impressed by many of them."

"The academics in this school are good on the honors and AP levels, but once students are in eleventh grade, they don't even have the option of taking all of those classes. Exrtacurricular activities are available, and the basketball teams are great. Parents tend to be more involved with their childrens' sports lives than academically. Oxford has poor test scores, but is now noticing an improvement because of the principal who has been with the school for two years now. He's definitely great."

"I have only been here for 2 years, but my daughter has had a pretty positive experience. She is involved in the Chorus program and she enjoyed the Interior Design classes they offered. So far I have seen nothing but good things. I have emailed teachers many times and had almost immediate response from them. New high school being built and should be occupied this school year beginning in September."
