"This school is a joke. The college admissions list for seniors is an even bigger joke: do not attend this school if you plan on going to a top college. The teachers are horrendous, i think i've had one good teacher during my time at mercy. The admissions test is also a joke as the girls here severely lack intelligence and wouldn't make it at any of the top private schools. The nuns are control freaks. The school packs on so much work to students (5+ hours a night) and expects them to be "well rounded" by joining 8291 clubs. Too much time is wasted on religious things such as mass and Theology class. The uniforms are sloppy looking and uncomfortable, and the school itself would not pass a health test if inspected. Electives are not offered until junior year, making for a very stiff and monochrome high school courseload. All in all i feel that this school severely messed up my chances at getting into a good college."

"Recently I went to a regatta with my school's crew team. When we started racing against OLMA, our boats collided which I thought was an honest mistake. No big deal, we started over but then it happened again. The girls in the boats attitude was rude and offensive. We let them ahead of us and obviously came in last place. At the end of the race, The OLMA girls boat was talking about our cockswain AND WAS AGAIN RUDE. People from the shore said that we were steering straight and they had cut us off..I understand that maybe the crashing was a mistake, but there IS NO NEED FOR THE ATTITUDE AND THE RUDENESS, the OLMA girls crew team REALLY needs to work on their attitude, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!! Sincerely, the other boat that you cut off..."

"i did not find mercy appealing at all! i am finishing up my freshman year and it was horrible! 5 people have already left and i dont blame them.i am not doing well academically and i am not making alot of friends as i thought. i miss my old friends and i want to go back. i am not proud at all to be going to mercy. the staff is poor for a highly expensive school."

"I have just finished my freshman year at Mercy and I enjoyed it very much. Coming from public school, Mercy was a huge change for me. I came knowing no one that was going to the school. I quickly met great friends. Although an all girls school isn't for everyone, it is very beneficial. There is no worrying about your bedhead or your tired looking face. There is no stress to impress any boys. Also, you aren't deprived from males. There are dances and social events with the Chaminade Boys. As for academics, Mercy is good so far. The teachers are very kind and good at there jobs. They are always available when the students need help. I feel that the homework load is manageable and not actually difficult at all. All the girls in the school, no matter what age or grade, all talk and are all friendly. The graduating class of 2013 expressed that they feel extremely prepared for the college life ahead of them. The best part of Mercy is the family feeling. All the people involved in mercy, whether student or faculty, are friendly and work together. God and our faith is involved in all events and prayers are said daily. Mercy is a great school, but like anything, has room for improvement."

"After going to a public school for eight years and going into Mercy for high school, I did not know what to expect. I did not get what I wished I had out of it. As for teachers: some were better than others, and some were not good teachers at all. I enjoyed having God in my daily life and loved the spiritual aspect of my education. Being an athlete, there were costs for everything: uniforms, a fee for actually playing the sport, transportation fees, etc. My parents spent a lot of money on my high school between all the fees, whatever fee you can think of, Mercy charges you for it! The school is limited on course offerings: my senior year was the first year they offered a psychology and sociology course. I would have liked to see more diverse offerings to give the girls a chance to figure out what they would like to do with their lives. Mercy never gave me the sense of reassuring what my career could potentially be. I went to Nassau my first two years of college and got much more out of it then I did from Mercy. I wish I had stayed in public school for high school because I would have gotten a much more promising education than what Mercy gave me."
