"The teachers that teach IB courses seem to dedicate their time to making a curriculum the students can follow and are able to give plenty resources to prepare for testing and give plenty information to help the student understand."

"I didn't like it. The school was too segregated and had no school spirit for the majority of the time I was there. Sports weren't very well funded and there was low attendance. In fact, in softball sometimes the coach discouraged people from attending. Towards the end of my stay there though the school was starting to turn around"

"Parents do a great job staying involved in our activities and without them we wouldn't be able to plan out any events"

"I would not choose to go to this school again not would I ever recommend it. Mission Bay high school is a very small school with a very small amount of clubs and little to no school spirit. Mission Bay is not a traditional high school opposed to Helix where they have a band, school spirit, many sports, and countless clubs. Despite the lack of the "high school experience", the way there classes are set up is not beneficial whatsoever, especially for the seniors. Mission Bay is on a block schedule, meaning there are 4 classes each day but 8 classes in total. I believe that taking 8 classes in one school year can be very helpful when someone is wanting to graduate early or need to retake a class. But for the seniors who are all caught up in their classes and only need to take 2 or 3, are stuck with 5 or 6 classes that they do not need. Mission Bay does not offer a wide variety of electives nor do they give the seniors any other options such as a free period resulting in seniors taking 5 or 6 classes that they do not need. In my experience, this has made my senior year much more stressful that I believe it needed to be. Instead of focusing on the core classes I need to graduate, I had 5 other classes I needed to focus on. When trying to talk to the administration about this issue, they simply said there was nothing they would do. But despite all of the stress this school has brought me, I am also very thankful I transferred to mission bay. Mission Bay has opened many opportunities to me such as joining basketball, softball, and ASB which I probably would not have done at Helix. In all honesty, I do not regret transferring to Mission Bay. But I do hope on the future the administration will learn to be more helpful and find a way to be able to fix the way the classes are set up."

"I am not sure if I'd want to go back, but that's simply because it is high school, who wants to go back? As far as experiences, I really like my teachers and the friends I've made. Class discussions are always fun because they're engaging as we're learning about real life situations."
