"I have to say the Teaching staff is pretty good. It's the office that's a major problem. Principal I'm not a fan lazy. Office staff rude and lazy. One quick example of the many I could give you is this. My daughter makes honor roll. Doesn't get recognition during the 8th grade graduation ceremony. She went to the office several times to get this fixed before hand. The ladies are rude, falls from the top. After school is out and my daughter is over this, in the mail finally comes her certificate. Just pitiful. Even the automated messages they leave make me laugh. Hi Joe Walker Parents Don't make dinner tonight we are having a Spaghetti dinner at the school at 6 pm. I look at the clock it's 545 pm. Last year they forgot to call about the awards ceremony for the 7th graders so they had to redue that at the beginning of the year. Just needs real leadership."

"I LOVE JOE WALKER it is my favorite school that i've ever went to!!! The teachers are great and the after school activities are excellent. I am currantly in track and was also in track last year i think that all the resources that teachers provide for us the students are phonomal, and i don't see why any student should be having any type of proble with their grades. I would reccomend this school to anyone and everyone!"

"This school is really great. Im an eighth grader curently in geeometry. The GATE program isn't its best in 7th grade because of the lack of challenge and diversity in learning amongst other students. In 8th grade, the Gate program is good, Language arts is definitely challenged. The teachers are willing to help and their expectations are straightforward. The only problem i have is the strict dress code. Since 2008 the dress code stricness has grown to a point where even parents have complained. It is very hard to shop back to school if the dress code is irrational and fallacious. Other than the lack of sense on the Vice principals part, the faculty is great and the environment is overall safe. =]"

"I love this school and i am in gate, and having an awsome time. I know that people in gate or working accelerated and are getting pushed to their best ability. The teachers are graeat and help you with anything.... I recomend this school for everyone. Also, if u get lost easily, then i suggest trying to get in a class with your friends because the campus is huge."

"Joe Walker does not provide education well at all. I am an advanced seventh grade student in GATE and advanced algebra, I feel i am doing the same work as average and lower level students in all subjects. The campus is very dirty and the discipline issue is the same. The only decent teacher in the campus is Mr. French."
