"There are teachers that go above and beyond to make sure that we as students are to the best of our abilities. The teachers work with us individually after the lessons and answer questions throughout the lectures. Outside the classroom the teachers work with the students to make sure the gain a stronger foundation for the topic. The other side of the teaching spectrum is the teachers that don't take the initiative to have structure in their classroom and let anything happen. The grading of those teachers, has no consistency at all, which makes it difficult to get help with increasing our grades in that class."

"There is a competitive relationship between the different classes. Each class themselves get along with each other but they lack in getting more involved with the different students that are not of their own class or of their age."

"This school unlike many others, naturally pushes you in your classes. Most of the core classes are AP and it is manditory for the students. Once one of the classes becomes AP, if you are taking that class, AP is "normal". Even though the school does push the students in academics, it does not make the homework load any easier. Many of the students have sleepless nights due to everything needed to be completed. That being said, the teachers sometimes don't realize all that is done and still decide to sometimes degrade the students about their future. The staff negatively is something definitely something to be worked on, but other than that, the environment of the school is academically successful and there is nothing but growth."

"I would choose this school if I could do it all over again, at Grand Valley there is the "AP for all", which means that all grades will take at least two AP classes each year, with the intertwine with the other classes. This gives students the chances for a qualifying score without having to pay for the test, along with not having to be discouraged with not "being smart enough" to take the class."

"It's tough. It's nice if you are a committed student, but not effective if you are not."
