"Despite my above reviews this school really was a fairly decent school. Many of the parents did not care about the other students, however in the marching band where I participated there were many parents who gave their all to make it a great experience. Another bonus of the school was that there was little if any discrimination. It was a great environment for those who don't fit into any particular status quo."

"During my time at this school I have noticed a lot of parental presence at the sporting events. The parents are not always there just to cheer on the teams, they also volunteer to sell snacks and help with fundraisers."

"Compared to the other schools in Arizona, Chaparral is above the medium. The overall wealthy atmosphere takes some getting used to but the teaching and material learned is better than most but not impossibly hard."

"My experience at Chaparral High School was near terrible. Looking back on it, I feel like I learned some important lessons from my time there, and I did make one life-long friend there, and caught glimpses of other people I could imagine getting along with. However, the average student at Chaparral was rich and conceited, and subscribed shamelessly to cliques and stereotypes. The atmosphere was very hostile. I was a new student, and no one, including teachers, reached out to me, even though many people knew that I was new. I felt mostly ignored and looked through by everyone, including teachers and even my counselor. This is not a typical experience for me - I had gone to two other high schools before this and never experienced anything close to that. People had generally no interest in who you were, and the schools national ranking is thanks to cheating rings and teachers purposefully looking the other way. The students were lazy and shamelessly cheated. I had the worst math class I've ever had there, and often had conversations and heard conversations with people in this class that profusely expressed their genuine confusion with the topics we were learning and just that they were utterly lost, and yet somehow everyone walked out of the class with As. Students had their phones on their laps with pictures of the completed text that some other kid sent out as a mass text earlier that day. The teacher would sit with her back to the class the entire period on her computer while the test was being completed. As I got to know a few more people towards the end of the year, I actually got sent some of these messages. Dress codes were enforced to the point of humility, making girls put on other peoples gym uniforms in the middle of the day and confiscating their clothes till the end of the day. These are 18 year old girls wearing summer dresses in over 100 degree weather on an outdoor campus. Priorities completely out of wack."

"The academics give students an oppurtunity to explore all the field for real life jobs and devotion."
