"Villa Montessori is a great school for kids who are willing to be challenged. Some kids can not handle the stress of being a grade level ahead of regular public schools which is fine, everyone learns a diffrent way. The teachers are not in cliques and truly try to help your kid. This school, although it does not teach another language, prepares you for your life ahead. This is a school where relationships are made, a place where teachers and students are treated as equals. If you have a problem with the school then actually do something about it. Just playing phone tag doesn't work if you have a problem that you want to be fixed. Remember that this school is still trying to grow and get better because they know that nothing in life is perfect, which is something that everyone should know."

"Villa Montessori has been a gift to my family. My husband and I are fortunate enough to have children ranging from grades 1-8. This school not only provides an impeccable education, it truly is an education of the whole child. They promote life long learning and each of them are above grade level due to the academic prowess and encouragement of self-directed learning. Executive functioning is such an important skill and teachers hold each child responsible for completing follow-ups in a timely manner. When my children come home from school, their learning continues whether it be science experiments, research or reading. I have been a parent at this school for twelve years and feel so much gratitude for the strong sense of community, supportive administration and the encouragement of the education of the whole child."

"If you value a true Montessori experience, this is not it. It is Montessori-lite, at best. Prior to coming to Villa, I had my daughter in another (far more serious out-of-state) Montessori for several years. After joining Villa, I was dismayed by the dumbing down of the Montessori approach. This school has strayed too far, and the divergence has brought with it decreased expectations for learning. While my daughter flourished at her first school (learning at rapid speed because she was challenged), she languished at Villa because she was not challenged. Since she was above average in learning ability, Villa considered her a low priority. She regressed in reading, writing and math, and complained about being bored. Villa s poorly executed Montessori curriculum simply wouldn t adapt to her learning pace (even though it should). I had numerous conversations with school administrators about my concerns and frustrations. They were not interested. She has since switched schools, and I am once again astounded her rapid pace of learning. She is finally being challenged again. If you re striving for average then Villa will deliver. If you expect more, then consider other options."

"I don't think the negative comments reflect reality. I'm reading things like "teacher turnover is horrendous," but almost every Villa teacher returns every year. Teachers that do move on are typically assistants looking for a lead teacher opportunity that Villa can't provide them. Nearly every student returns every year. The entire school is A-rated, based on student outcomes. (Look it up!) And they just completed an impressive construction project that vastly improved the Elementary classrooms. I could go on and on. Villa isn't a perfect school, but no school is. Still, I think Villa, by any reasonable measure, is a terrific school. Oh well. Anyway, my son is in Kindergarten and thriving. Because of the Montessori materials and expert teachers, he can count by 4s, 5s, 6s, etc. He can write and is actively learning to read. He loves going to school and is flourishing. He's been at Villa for 3 years and he'll be there for 8 more. The negative comments do not reflect my family's experience at all, except that the school does charge for full-day Kindergarten. It's a bummer, but to be fair, the state only pays the school for 1/2 day. My family couldn't be happier. Thanks, Villa!"

"Villa Montessori is fine until 3rd grade. After that it is terrible or possibly we got the worst teachers in E2. After we pulled our children we spent almost a year catching up so they could keep up with their respective grade. This was after we were constantly told they were doing great. Now we are trying to undo the damage done; love of learning and self esteem. Think long and hard before considering this school. It is not for everyone especially if your children do not fit in the ideal Montessori mold."
