"Totally awesome school - any concerns regarding an unfriendly office lady and unprofessional vice principal have been addressed."

"Diane winborn is a great elementary school. I just finished my fifth grade year there. I been there for 7 years and I say it's one great school. To put your children or child in. The teachers are great. The Teachers Are reasonable caring & loving love students as their own children helps students improve and more ( if want to know more let your child go there) I'm a former student and say it is a school where your child can learn from some of the best teachers that former students would say. Your child will learn to be ready for state test, get help on subjects they are not good at, and great school years to make friends, learn, and improve."

"I also would like to comment on the TAKS issue...ask yourselves: If this is the States way of keeping schools accountable for educating students on an acceptable level...wouldn't you want your child assured of the excellence this school offers...especially in that area....look at their scores. Do you believe your child would be better off in a school that performs poorly on these tests? This school does it's upmost to ensure the children are prepared to succeed ANYWHERE...and they do! We tested into an IB program in another city....IB is an international program designed to educate students on a level of learning worldwide..the children compete with children from higher acheivng countries such as China, etc. KISD is implementing it...just with the budget cuts it's not gonna happen for my son in the time we need it. So, we're moving to Austin, where they do! This school also does a WONDERFUL job with fine arts...their art teacher is very good as is their computer & music teachers. Overall it is an amazing school that only ask for your tax dollars...think of how much more they could do if they had more financial support!?"

"My girls have been going to Winborn for 2 years now and overall it's a good school. I agree with some of the reviews from other parents saying that this school is stuck on TAKS and that it's the only thing their kids have been taught however this might be a statewide issue or even countrywide issue. The think I like the least about this school is the ladies who sit in the front office/desk. They never smile and some of them are not friendly at all. Who wants their child going to a school where not just one front lady but the majority that I've ran into are unhappy looking and unhappy acting? I love nurse Shirley! Ther's some bullying that goes one here but I believe that it happens at every school. My 2nd grader tells me that her teacher yells alot which is not comforting to know either, there's really no excuse for that. This school does have great fundraisers though and the activities such as the glow with the flow and the jingle walk were very fun!"

"My children have been attending Winborn for the last 4 years. They both love their school and their teachers. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with my children's teachers. They are truly caring and nurturing people. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I can't say a bad thing about any of them. I know there are several families who have moved to the area just to be zoned to Winborn. As for family nights and "fun activites", we just attended Glow with the Flow last night. The kids had so much fun! And it was much more affordable than many of the other school's fundraisers I've heard about in the area. My first grader had a wonderful Reading Restaurant a couple of months ago. There was also a family event in the fall. We've had two classroom parties this year (pretty standard for Katy ISD) and I've also been able to volunteer for my first grader's science lab each 6 weeks. I think there's a great mix of fun and educational activities at Winborn. No complaints here! My kids and I love it!"
