"We initially enrolled our two kids in private school and were ready to spend the money when we heard of the opportunity for them to learn Mandarin. We took the chance with public school and enrolled them in the Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Program and couldn't be happier and it's free (LOL!). The standard curriculum is conducted 90% in mandarin and 10% in english. The children are diverse, well behaved and the parents are very involved and resourceful. Although we do not speak Mandarin, my kids are thriving with comprehension, reading and writing the complicated characters. They are on their way to becoming biliterate. The children in kindergarten are conversing with each other in mandarin within the first 3 months. It's unbelievable and they are engaged and confident. Even the afterschool program has a mandarin speaking teacher to help with homework. Field ES is a nice and safe campus. We are really happy with Field, the leadership, teachers and staff."

"My daughter is thriving at Field Elementary School! Principal Apodaca is a strong leader who puts her students first. The parent community at Field is engaged and eager to participate in their children's learning experiences. The teachers are devoted -- it shows in their students' progress. As a working parent, I like the variety of after-school options that are offered at Field. I appreciate the cultural diversity in the school and how it is celebrated year-round -- Field Elementary is a wonderful environment for my child."

"I am absolutely delighted with Field Elem. School. When my child begun attending the school, there were many teachers being changed, but Ms. Apodaca took care of the parent's needs and helped the children make the transitions. Currently, my two children are extremely happy at Field and I am thrilled with the academic progress that they are making. Each year they continue to learn new and challenging information. Each year I am thankful that my children attend a school that has such an excellent staff . . .who knows us (students and parents) by name."

"My son is in kindergarten in the Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Program which just relocate to to Field Elementary Fall 2011 from Burbank Elementary. I think this is the only 90/10 Mandarin program in the LA area. The other two programs @ Broadway & City Terrace are only 50/50. We feel very fortunate to have this program available for our kids. The Mandarin teachers are amazing. The Principal and the parents are very involved. The children are kind and polite to each other. I couldn't have been happier with our program choice and school selection."
