"Starrs Mill High School is a very good school if your child academically excels, is very good in sports, and you can afford to keep up with the "Jones". If your child is shy, a misfit, or is insecure you should probably look elsewhere. Don't believe the "no tolerance" bullying policy. There is bullying at SMHS and nothing is done about it. This school's focus is on sports and academics, even though it has a wonderful fine arts program. The accomplishments of the fine arts departments are often over shadowed by anything done in sports. Also it does not offer ROTC for any child that is considering a military career."

"I was a sophomore at SM and I think the school overall is great. The only major problem that I have is with the people in it. Yes, I get that we will always have mean people but these people were a lot worse. They spread nasty rumors about me, treated me poorly because I was "different" from them. I was on the cheer squad and in yearbook. I felt isolated in both activities. I am not coming back to SM and would rather go to it's rivalry school, McIntosh. If you ever go to SM, just don't bother hanging out with the snobby rich people. It could be one of your worst mistake in your life."

"For a high school, you can't really get much better than Starr's Mill. Our school is focused on excellence, and almost everyone on staff is working towards the betterment of this philosophy. All the teachers are really helpful, and all the school staff does whatever they can to make sure the students are working to their full potential. The staff is also very accommodating of the requests and concerns of parents. There is virtually no bullying problems and absolutely no gang activity due to our schools zero tolerance policy. This doesn't mean that some kids aren't mean at times, but it is probably the best you could get from a high school. In general, the kids are pretty well behaved and doesn't cause an interruption in a learning environment. Our sports programs, yearbook&newspaper, and fine arts are fantastic. The only complaint I have is that I wish we had a bigger variety of electives/career focus classes because none of them personally interest me. The other thing is that our math department has some weak teachers. Overall, you can't get a whole lot better for a public high school and for someone moving to the area I would defiantly recommend coming to Starr's Mill."

"Starrs' Mill is a great school for fake people who think there are no rules. Parents are really involved in their children's academics and athletics by cheating and pressuring the coaches and teachers to get their way. The majority of the faculty and staff are genuinely good people who try to help the students in any way they can, but are harassed by selfish parents and students. This school is full of some of the most horrid people you will ever meet. I honestly can't wait until my high school years are over so I can get out of this place."

"The big problem I had with this school is lack of prompt response from the teachers whenever you reach them for help."
