"Strings program in this school and district is to cry over if yo are an above advanced violinist. No structure or support in teaching. Band on the others and isretty great for an es. It is a good school though."

"I have read the reviews of this school. Some are from very spoiled parents who really do not have a clue about education and the entire teaching and learning experience. Grow up! My experience is that the teachers and principal are very dedicated people who go out of their way to help and even on their own time with extra activities. I love the extra help with reading. I can't believe the reading that my grandson is doing in K, 1st and now 2nd grade. Spoiled suburban idiots! Clueless!"

"Horrible school system. Wissahickon lets your child slide through the cracks if they fall outside the norm. My daughter has ADD and this school was a nightmare. I didn't feel like anyone truly cared about my child's education. I went to several meetings I set up and the teachers and principal attitiudes were horrid. Any promises they make to help are never kept and it was so disorganized. they even sent home a flyer one year saying parents complained about it!! I wish my child left here sooner."

"I personally have had a positive experience for my child at Shady Grove. One main reason is that I'm an advocate for my child and his needs. There are times when I didn't agree with the philosophy of the district and the ' micro management of classes. The teachers are the individuals getting the bad rap for some of the problems of NCLB, and the districts failure to provide adequate supports for ALL staff. Not just that of the inclusion classrooms. Remember that SG is the largest per sq ft elementary school in the district, the most diverse in population, and is a feeder school to a K-3 program. They need more supports in multiple areas than other elementary schools. Like previously mentioned we have had nothing but positive feedback, and helped to solve problems and not just complain."

"Quality is uneven. Quite a few teachers seem to be in love with their own strictness and focus more on order and structure than on the joy of learning."
