"El Dorado is a great school! We have been very happy in our four years here. Our son came to El Dorado well behind most of the other students in reading. We did choose to have him tutored for the first semester, but it was not suggested to us. In fact, we were told by the director that by the end of the year he would be able to catch up. We did have him tutored however to speed up the process. By midyear he fit in with his class better and now in 5th grade is reading at a 7th grade level. We are looking forward to our remaining three years at El Dorado."

"I want to like this school, but it's leadership model is inherently flawed to have the principal's family members on staff. There is a serious drop in enrollment b/c of the economy, so the school is lowering it's academic standards and "dumbing" down it's curriculum. Your children can def. learn as much if not more at a public school. Do not waste your money on this private school."

"I'm very disappointed in the below average education my children got here. They say they teach a grade level above public school, but most of the kids aren't ready for it, and so they end up teaching to them. An above-average child isn't challenged, and a below-average one is told to get tutoring (additional cost, of course) and then encouraged not to return the next year. The lack of leadership and discipline is evident in the way the parents run the school."

"We could not be more pleased with this family owned school! That is definitely one of the benefits! Coming from another corporate owned private school, it has been refreshing to see an owner/principal that truly cares about her students, staff, and school. The entire staff appears to be one, big family. They all get along, care and support each other. And as for the owner's two children that teach at the school, my two children had them both as teachers in consecutive years in kindergarten and first grade. They could not be more wonderful, dedicated professionals. We are also very excited about all the new technology. And yes, funds for $500,000 in new technology have to come from somewhere. We are more than willing to pay a $200 technology fee for the implementation of this equipment. We have spent three years at El Dorado and look forward to the next seven years! Hopefully by then there will be an EDPS high school!!"

"Definitely disappointed after two years at El Dorado. I loved the family feel and the campus was very neat/tidy compared to others I have seen. I thought that I did a thorough screening in my private school search but now two years later after having two children attend the school, we are looking elsewhere. They like their cookie cutter kids and parents who do not need/ask for any extra attention in any certain area. I thought that teachers were there to help the children but my kids have not been pushed to their full potential and when one of my children had not been exposed to a particular topic I was the one questioned. Very expensive if I am the one expected to introduce and teach academics to my children. Class sizes seem to be growing and the individualization I thought I would buy from this private school was completely opposite of how they operate. Fit the mold, make the teacher s job as easy as possible or move on. I m moving on and not wasting any more of my precious developing minds time. Not a fit for everyone, regardless of income."
