"Applies to Prep School only. Before you enroll your child in this "elite" school. Obtain the following statistics from the administration in writing: 1. Number of faculty who have resigned in the past 24 months. 2. Percentage of students who are from non-English-speaking countries. You have been warned."

"If it wasn't for the elementary schools the rating would be much lower. The prep school is not more than one star."

"This review is for the Prep school and does not apply to other Rancho Solano campus. Rancho Solano has had a great community reputation but unfortunately the Prep school does not rise to these standards of excellence. The Math and Science departments are severely lacking! Even though the cost of attendance is upwards of $16,000 per year. The teachers seem to be undervalued and apparently underpaid which could explain the constant turnover of teachers. My student stated there is constant talking, texting, and internet surfing going on during classes. There was very little preparation for AP tests and one test even came as a surprise. Because of the frequency of changes in class names, types (honor, IB, AP) I did not even know which classes were now considered AP classes. Planning is poor and changes are made mid way through a qtr or semester frequently. I wish I could say that getting students prepared academically for strenous studies in college was the administration's primary goal, but priorities set by high level admin are so contrary to this I have difficulty imagining the success of this school. For the few of us that constantly gave the benefit of the doubt, we were too kind."

"My children have been attending Rancho for 6 years now. I feel they are getting a top tier education. Rancho is great at creating a well rounded student with academics, community service, fine arts and athletics. There will be highs & lows anywhere you go. I feel by far that this is where my kids should be. They are around students & teachers who care about their education & their future."

"I am extremely disappointed in the administration of this school. I feel that the students have been let down over and over again. Promises made, never kept. The staff turnover is very concerning to me as well as my child. This school is more about appearance than what is truly happening on their campus with their students. If you are looking for a solid education go somewhere else because Rancho Prep is truly about themselves and NOT about the students. The bait and switch referred to in a prior post is completely true. Unfortunately, we as parents, believed the promises that were made and our kids are now paying the price for it. Meritas will most definitely be the demise of Rancho Solano, a school that in the past has had a solid reputation, but now is all about the almighty dollar. So unfortunate."
